If England came calling then Pardew would be a fool to turn it down. If England came calling and offered us significant compensation for Pardew we would be foolish to turn it down out of hand (without at least exploring what other options might be out there). And if the FA do come calling, then they are fools because Pardew has more potentially embarrassing skeletons in his closet then Allardyce would ever have. Plus too many side-of-field antics (headbutts, calling opposition managers "c#nts" etc). And too variable a record. "It's almost like a moral decision. How much compensation would actually compensate us for an established manager leaving part way into our season during a streak of decent form? Given that we now seem to be a club that doesn't make a big deal about £10m transfers I'd have thought we'd want more compensation than we'd ever realistically get.

How much compensation would actually compensate us for an established manager leaving part way into our season during a streak of decent form? Given that we now seem to be a club that doesn't make a big deal about £10m transfers I'd have thought we'd want more compensation than we'd ever realistically get.

I've been a supporter of our club since the 60s and can vividly remember the likes of Eddie Presland, Danny Light, Phil Hoadley, Roger Hoy etc etc. And the peanut lady on the Holmesdale Terrace, NOT forgetting the "Flatterer" !
