I don't think Ian Wright is anywhere near the greatest player Palace have a ever had, as some people are suggesting.

The few goals that stood out for me for being classic Ian Wright goals were his first in the cup final, a goal he scored at Derby leaving leaving Mark Wright for dead v Shilton and a goal at Southampton. Just look at what happened after he left. From going beyond reaching full potential to well, hmmm.

This is fair. Palace are Wrighty's second team. If having a second team makes you a bit of a w4nker, then he's guilty as charged. Still, he's getting more Palace as he gets older. Brighty remains far the better man, which is a compliment to him and not a dig at Wright. ..Millwall are, but we are his favourite in giving him the chance of actually playing and proving himself, I was not aware that brighton took him on before us and then let him go, you can't make it up!

Six seasons of sheer ingenuity, passion, great goals and some skill and all at the same time as promotion, our first FA Cup final appearance and third in Division One (The Prem). He is our greatest ever player. No one who was there will disagree.
