He's a very entertaining fighter to watch, that's why he's box office. I don't particularly like him, but he's got a lot of things going for him business wise. The fact he's from an Asian background means he stands out with that community (not a lot of elite sportsmen from that area), he talks well, he doesn't duck tough fights and you're pretty much guaranteed a knockout.

With regard to Brook, of course he's avoiding him. If he loses to Brook he's lost all his image. He doesn't care about the UK audience, it's nothing compared to being on American PPV, so he'll take fights like Garcia for big money and not lose much face if he loses. It's now up to Brook to get the fights with other title holders of different federations AND WIN.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

This ^^^ khan has broke the American market and it's not easy to do. It's not like over here where British boxers fight in a good economy, you only need to win a world title and every man and his dog will tune in and pay £20. The American fans won't watch for the sake of it. Even ward who's probably the best p4p fighter in the world struggles to sell out his home town. Most British boxers won't take the risk and are happy to have a comfortable career in Britain. Khan deserves respect for making a name in the USA.

Promised much and delivered little...if anything

He was the entire British boxing team and lost to arguably the greatest amateur boxer, who was also reigning Olympic gold medallist and unbeaten in 5 or 6 years.

Optimistic as ever

Yep. This is why DeGale fought Dirrell on free to air TV in the states for the belt, and has defended it twice now abroad.

He wants to break that market rather than just being happy to fight in England, and let's be fair, most fans here booed him when he attended UK shows until he got a belt.

Yeah but the Americans didn't like the Jam, Queen or Oasis but they love Elton John
