Tbh Sash I think it is one of the most boring set of games I have seen in a Championship. Perhaps I am getting old or perhaps we were a little spoilt by the World Cup but it really does seem poor this year.

You may have been spoilt in the World cup, we were decidley unspoilt, spolit we were not, un-spolied is what we were, the very epitome of the opposite of spolied is what we were, Anti-spoiled even.

I think that is possible, not written in stone though.

I'm not too sure it makes much difference after seeing the gap between the 6 nations sides and the SH though. I suppose local bragging rights are worth it to an extent.

If either side tries and plays a brand of rugby that is exciting that will make a pleasant change.

I have a feeling England will win. I will be really honest and say if either side can play a reasonable amount of exciting rugby I won't begrudge them the victory. We are so far behind the SH and I actually think the gap is widening.

Although im a relatively new convert to rugby i am enjoying the six nations. England are a much stronger unit with Jones in charge - Wales are consistently strong. Ireland a bit on the wain with the retirements of key men. I'm enjoying watching Scotland play and think they could beat France on Sunday.

Re SH - Scotland were cheated over a win over the aussies so these teams are not invincible. England i think have been regalvanised by Jones and would give any team problems

Too early for us and Jones to worry about excitement.

This is a get the wins tournament, the confidence back up and we'll look at style later.

As the pre-match war of words regarding the scrum would seem to attest.

I was just reading the respective interviews about the scrums. Both teams saying the other is scrummaging illegally, probably very true, but it won't stop it happening.

Edit - forgot to add that probably every international side does something illegal whilst scrummaging.

Throwing the ball in straight and relying on the best hooker to gain control of the ball would be a start. I don't think I've seen a legal scrummage for decades. It's not even subtle anymore FFS.

Still good to see the referee is Craig Joubert, that idiot that completely cocked up Scotland's hopes in the recent world cup then ran into the dressing room to hide.

I'm sure he'll be right on top of this!

Currently EVERY scrum is illegal...modern day scrum halves seem totally incapable of rolling the ball straight for 3 feet into one..

To be fair to Hartley he actually does hook the ball more than any other.

Not that he needs to as the refs never pull anyone up for not doing it right.
