Karen Carpenter.
Usually women cannot drum very well for some reason - they end up thumping the skins... Meg White from the White Stripes is a great example of this. I'm not sure many would nominate Karen as a great drummer either, more of a novelty, but this excerpt shows she has a lot of ability/rhythm! Edited by Hoof Hearted (16 Jan 2016 12.01pm)

Lars Ulrich from Metallica - especially a young Lars Ulrich - Phenomenal and almost unique talent even as a young upcommer. Dave Lombardo from Slayer I'd second Karen Carpenter, by all accounts a very good drummer. She had a hunger for it.

Mr Stuart Copeland. The Cutting edge he got from kits just had a quality that I loved. Here with Stanley Clarke, arguably the best bass player ever. This is the essence of drum and base. Please watch the whole set, you'll see what I mean.. oops.. link.. Edited by Mr Palaceman (21 Jan 2016 12.15pm)
