A bit feeble of Gayle but we see women fawning all over men all the time on TV and we are supposed to see this as some kind of female empowerment. What crap. It is women behaving badly because they can.

Men are now subject to identity politics, or more accurately in this case, gender politics by which men can't be men any more because the PC brigade say so.

As with all equality, one cannot favour one group because they are perceived as victims. More often than not this is just self interest disguised as equal rights.
In other words, if women and men are to be equal then the same rules must apply to both. That does not mean that some specifically male traits sit well when women adopt them or vice versa for that matter.

Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (05 Jan 2016 4.29pm)

The women judges on x factor for a start, and Chris Gayle isn't married unlike one of them at least.

Optimistic as ever

I think he's got off really lightly with that fine. I once said something similar to a girl and in the subsequent 5 years it's cost me far more than 5 grand.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

If one of the Australian Ladies cricket team had flirted with a male presenter in similar fashion would there have been this hysterical reaction ?

Probably would have been labelled a sl*t by all the people on here defending Gayle.

But do you really feel that she would have been fined by 'Cricket Australia' ?

Yes. It's unprofessional.

Now that I agree with. Flirting on TV is not really desirable, but that goes for both genders.

Big fuss over nothing. This is the f***ing Big Bash League, supposed to be light hearted and entertaining, not a test match interview by Mark Nicholas. Bloody overreaction, double standard Aussie reaction.

Most certainly not European.

This is broadly my opinion as well but of course opinions are polarised on this matter.
