I am a serious binger, will drink anything from 12-20 pints on a night out. Then suffer a really bad hangover for 2-3 days then do it all over again. I love drinking and am one of those that actually drinks faster as i go on. Think it stems from when the pubs used to close earlier, last orders i always used to get 3 pints in and drink them within 10-15 minutes. Not proud or showing off but could drink 30 pints some days. Wish i could be like others and have 2-3 pints then stop. Its all or nothing full session or nothing.

I probably drink about 8 pints of lager and maybe 5 or 6 vodkas/gins. Usually all in the one night though, so not sure if that's better or worse than spreading it out across the week?

Drinking all in one go (Binge Drinking) is worse for your health than spreading the same amount during the week.

Drinking is bad for your health, but binge drinking is more fun. I don't get the idea of just having one or two drinks at all. I like to get properly under the influence, so tend towards sobriety on 'school nights' and getting it on at the weekend (usually only a couple of bottles of wine on a Friday - Saturday).

Drinking has been much more a social thing in recent years. But if I'm out drinking I'll generally keep drinking until its 'time to go home'. Went out for the Christmas party and just meeting up for a 'swift half' before the meal, saw me three pints to the good.

No drinking Monday & Tuesday.
A glass or two of wine rest of the week unless I'm going out then it'll be 2/3 pints

Truth is I can't drink to much any more because of stomach issues but never really drunk loads anyway.

Remembered now the last time i drunk every day was during a two month stay on the Greek Islands back in '87. Ouzo and ice cold Amstel lager. Gallons of the stuff. Delicious. Not one hangover either. Think it was because we would start supping at 5pm and finish at 3am and take it slowly.

Doing that for just one week now would see me in hospital.

Time to move forward together.

I do 20 pints (bottles of real ale) per week, no more and usually no less... Say again.. yes no less usually as I count them, bit weired but thats the way I stop myself from getting addicted, been doing that for about 10 years now, I spread them out over 6 days and have one night off.
Bloody enjoy drinking and for sure if it didnt kill you I would drink alot more and smoke but hey ho.

Have a bottle of wine/champagne (sometimes two) with my wife 2/3 times in the week. Drink beer on the weekend, probably 20 bottles on average , sometimes go out on a Wednesday night with my mates and have a load up.
F*ck it, I enjoy it , never had a hangover, doesn't effect my home /work life, don't smoke, eat healthily , don't take any drugs anymore, and go to the gym 5 days a week. If it was making me fat if cut down ( I'm a vain c**t).
Id say I drink less than most of my mates , apart from one who's got a problem with it, and isn't drinking at the moment. But, like him, if I had a problem with it , I'd knock it on the head.
I fu*king love walking out of my house on a Wednesday to meet my pals to talk a load of boll*cks take the piss out of each other and have a laugh , got bundles going on at work and 3 kids indoors , everyone needs a release, or id end up bottling it up and do a Raoul Moat.

How on earth can you go to the gym 5 days a week with 3 kids at home? You must be fantastic at time management. I only have 2 [albeit youngest now 14 months old] and had to knock the gym on the head.

As to OP, beer reserved for football days, country hikes and special nights out. Otherwise, wine all the way. Not [just] poncey - I just process red wine better and enjoy it more.

Easy mate. Get to the gym at 7:30ish. Have a cup of tea, do any invoicing /quotes on the tablet in the coffee shop (decent wi fi) , gym , out and had lunch by midday, pricing. Sorted.

You say that, but that kind of obsessiveness is the mark of an addict. People often make the mistake of thinking the substance makes the addict, but its the other way around, addiction resides in the individual. I'm quite similar (and am a recovered speed addict from a family with a lot of history of addiction) in that I regiment my drinking based around set periods of time, typically so they won't interfere with functionality and routines.

I suppose though it depends on what you see addiction as. Personally I don't think addiction is a problem until its f**king with your wellbeing and existence.
