Both crew were shot dead, by Turkmen, while parachuting according to the BBC.

Putin will not let that go unpunished I wouldn't have thought.

Edited by Stuk (24 Nov 2015 2.54pm)

Wouldn't be surprised if Putin organised for the plane to be shot down. Just to give him an excuse to attack another country.

Meanwhile ISIS rub their hands together and watch the "West" fall apart.

And the Turks obliging so the Russians can inflict damage on them in turn?

Don't be daft.

Bingo.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

The amount of allied troops killed by each other in WW2 was huge and it didn't divide us. This is slightly different but inevitable in the current situation.

There will be a time when people in this mess have to choose sides and stop the brinkmanship. An uneasy alliance might be all we manage but that was enough to win WW2.

The Turkish government seems like they support isis .

Both Muslim.... so no real surprise?

Once again Hoof, your ignorance and borderline racism on the matter continues to astound me.

Turkey do have a lot to answer for, particularly in their aggressive position against the Kurds, who are one of the major forces preventing IS from spreading further into Northern Syria and Iraq. But few nations have more to fear from IS than Turkey, given that IS follow a prophetic line which explicitly mentions retaking Istanbul.

Oh, and of course we could go in to the fact that IS are a far greater threat to Shia Muslims than to white Christians, or the fact that in Yemen IS bombed a mosque full of Zaidi Sunnis as well, or the fact that every single group on the ground fighting IS are predominantly Muslim. But then I guess it's much easier just to be a racist isn't it?

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4

Now who is being daft. Putin will stoop to the lowest levels to get what he wants. The fact both pilots were shot is rather strange

Still you I'm afraid.

Not really as Russia have been bombing the people that allegedly shot them. Whereas Turkey backs those groups.

Not when you consider that they were shot through with bullets.

You really should stop being daft.

They are part of NATO and have by far the largest standing army outside of the US.
So yes, they are part of the "West".
