Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians.

Get rid of all the various Police Authorities and have them all under one roof.

At a stroke, a load of senior officers will be cut from the payroll and we will have a national consensus on policing rather than a fragmented approach like now. There might even be savings by amalgamating control rooms across the country.

I agree about scaling down vehicles to cut costs too.

Sorry to say it Kenny, but your pensions still need scaling back to match those in the private sector.

Times are hard.

I get that Hoof. I'm realistic enough to know that when times are tough we all have to give up a little.. the new pension scheme has very little effect on those that joined from 2006 onwards under the 2006 scheme but for those of us on the 1987 pension scheme we have well and truly had the rug pulled from underneath us.

I signed up for 30 years with a certain pension. I get 15 years in and then told I now have to do another 24 years and get 50 grand less than I was told at the start. That's a bitter pill to swallow. It's not about whether our pensions were better than others.. it's about being promised something then having it taken away from you. And it's knowing there's nothing we can do about it as we can't strike.

Anyways as soon as the redundancy package gets offered I'll be outta there. Already have something else lined up.

It's b****** when someone takes your money and there's f*** all you can do about it.

It's criminal. Call the police.

England's going to soon be rife with coppers doing crime to help prop up their earnings.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.

And yet the current government threw away a potential cash cow to the coffers which would have (pardon the pun) saved your bacon and many in your position with the decriminalization of cannabis.
Rightly or wrongly the figures don't lie, the waste of police time money and resources spent on a guy growing 5 ;plants in his loft and taking that through court is stupendous (one guy for £1.50s worth of hash)in this time of austerity and police cuts don't you think KBLF that it would have been a wise idea?

Drug offences represent a serious waste of valuable police resourcing. Also a major factor in the prison system and criminal justice system, mostly for what is an offence of personal choice and personal harm.

Except the majority of cases where they are mugging, housebreaking and committing other felonies to fund their grubby little 'personal' habit!

The extreme minority actually, most people buy their drugs like they do anything else they want.

It raised $58m in one year in Colorado after legalising cannabis alone.

We are having 30 police stations closed in Devon and Cornwall. So if someone gets caught shoplifting in Dartmouth the nearest copper will be ten miles away. They are not going to be arsed surely?
