Sounds like something New Labour would have cooked up.

Obesity is the bigger issue and seeing as supermarkets are willing to take bold steps like banning Ribena (albeit not entirely altruistically) why can't the government force their hands when it comes to the pricing of veg vs junk food. That doesn't even need a subsidy although free fruit would be a far better idea than free e-cigs.

Call me a fascist-socialist but I'd pay for a fat family's fruit and veg if it meant I could punish them for eating McDonalds.

Would the punishment be throwing the fruit and veg, that they've allowed to rot, at them?
