It someone is taking prescription drugs......Which have a purpose to improve your health in some way and they abuse them.....Then they also come under the 'junkie' banner. Problematically of course, you won't realize you have a problem until the supply is cut off. That's the point at which you can discover if you're an addict, its quite surprising how many people take tramadol, and find themselves in the situation where they experience withdrawls when they try to give up. The problem then is too late, if you're 'prone to addiction' you're likely to have already reached the point of being 'powerless' as they say in AA. People who haven't been down that route cannot imagine just how strong that craving is, and how badly their own brain will betray them.

If there is no other route for you then I'm not judging as I haven't walked in your shoes.....So my points and concerns are directed more generally. I don't accept the point about a glass of wine and so on but I generally accept your well made arguments on the issue...Some of which have genuinely shifted my view. I remember a previous thread where I researched your points and my eyes were opened a little...Not to pro obviously but to a more centralist position you could say.....Pretty significant for me as recreational drugs usage is something I'm probably even more anti on than I am about our current version of the EU. Anyway....Whatever you do and regardless of how strident my tone may come across on here..... here's to your good health.

Mr Sterlingsays, its always a pleasure to discuss topics with yourself, and if it gets a bit heated, I take that as a mark of respect and it has massively improved my essay writing skills (a lowly 65 average prior to HOL, now a regular 92-95). Who'd have thought HoL could be an educational tool !
