It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I'd like that 'n all! Trouble is, none of us would dare touch a note again. They're filthy enough as it is!

I was about to joke that they could sell advertising space on them, but then realised that is exactly the sort of thing they would do.

Banksy?

Good luck putting his image on it.

It'll be a non-male, non-English person. I'd bet £20 on it.

I'd take that bet, my money would be on Turner, Constable, Blake or William Morris. I think it would be controversial if it was Dante Rossetti or Millius, given there has never been an artist on a banknote, let alone a foreigner or a woman.

Wouldn't rule out a woman, but it'll be a British, likely English, person.

Thatcher?

Whoever it is, surely in this day and age, the time has come for slogans on the dosh too. Could have "support gay marriage" on it?

Edited by derben (20 May 2015 5.11pm)

If you put that on the fiver, you could have trouble with people being unable to buy bread or cake in NI

Not Ezra, but from another great poet, that perhaps describes us on HOL:

Praise be to Nero’s Neptune
The Titanic sails at dawn
And everybody’s shouting
“Which Side Are You On?”
And Ezra Pound and T.S. Eliot
Fighting in the captain’s tower
While calypso singers laugh at them
And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea
Where lovely mermaids flow
And nobody has to think too much
About Desolation Row

One of Dylans finest lyrical pieces, not my favourite track per se, but a master piece.
