Great from both sides. How could it not be? The people of NI deserve a chance at proper peace (and an end to dissident republicanism and loyalist criminality). Just the loyalists are 'criminal' then?
DRs still pose a threat to peace through terrorism. But the nice IRA are not thugs?
Ill explain it to you nice and simply. Loyalist groups, in the main, are no longer engaged in terrorism... they are largely driven by self-interest, maintaining control of their communities through fear, extortion and drugs. Crime and thuggery. They use the peace process as a vehicle to make money. Dissident Republicans are still engaged in terrorism and the planning of terrorist attacks. Do they enagage in criminal activity... of course. Are they nice people? Not in my eyes. Do they represent the biggest threat to the peace process? Probably. Indeed, the UVF and LVF have largely been involved in terrorism largely directed within and against the loyalist community. The UDA haven't been much better. Turns out, the loyalist terror group and the provos are s**ts.

Perhaps you might consider applying the use of adjectives like 'criminal' and 'thugs' to both sides when discussing them. The left has always kind of implied that the Loyalists criminals and thugs were somehow worse than the Republican criminals and thugs. The UFF certainly wasn't too fussy about murdering people, only 4% of their victims were actually members of republican paramilitary groups. Its hard to look even remotely legitimate when you've murdered 209 people for being catholic, and 37 people for being loyalist dissenters. I wouldnt' say anyone comes off looking good out of the Troubles, not the British, not the Loyalists or the Republican paramilitary groups and certainly not the 'Community Action groups' of either side.

Everyone was murdering innocent people during the troubles, the IRA, the UVF, the army, the police. Collusion was committed by the Irish police and some politicians too. Everyone was at it. Thankfully it's over. Gerry Adams is only doing this for the Irish 2016 election, he has to prove to the Irish public that he can be statesman like.

What isn't in doubt by is that thuggery and criminality aside - the IRA were an incredibly tough, intelligent and highly capable group of terrorists as has been recognised by those who had to take them on. Nothing to be proud of but they were, unfortunately, effective. Heard one of their bombs go off in East Dulwich. Stays with me to this day the sound of it. Are You for real? A leading UVF man Billy Wright had them running down south like a bunch of cowards!! you sir seem to be biggin them up!? they were s***E there attempts at taking out john major was a shambles! and lot of ex uvf men were ex army soldiers, so I think they were more intelligent than the ra! you seem to be a man of Scottish republicanism background.

Good call, he is indeed uncle to Prince Phillip, and so also the Great Uncle of Charles, as well as his wifes second cousin once removed. Small world these royals move in.
