Without them two Labour would probably have a comfortable majority

Why would they ? I don't see this at all given the economic performance of the Government who inherited a dire situation.

If David Miliband was party leader, Labour would walk it.

Hogwash.
People do not trust Labour with the economy and hopefully enough will not wish to throw away the gains made in the last 5 years. The Conservatives are building a strong economy and it would be criminal if we weren't allowed to finish the job.

At the end of the day the choice at this election is between the competence of a Conservative government or the chaos of Labour propped up by the SNP.

You're so seamlessly aligned and allied with your party at every step. I can get why people broadly follow an ideology, but it's called politics for a reason. You seem to believe what those in the party say more than they themselves do. The theatrics of it are lost of you. Not that I'm saying viewing things this way isn't useful for the party, but it comes off as a bit sad on a human level. No wonder your wife wants you to put a sock it in .

Old people tend to have blind faith and will follow whatever political path their leadership treads - unlike us youngsters who have healthy scepticism of all the hogwash.

I really don't think I'm a sad human being for passionately suppporting a political party and campaigning for them with some gusto.

Yes my wife tells me to "Put a sock in it" but for various reasons NOT just my political preaching !!!!

I didn't say you're a sad human being, I'm sure you're not. I just meant politically it's sad and very much towing the line. The same as someone who is perfectly aligned to the libdems or whoever. You believe what they're saying more than they do. When Cameron says that we'll get to where we'll need to be if we stick with him, but if we don't it'll be "chaos", he doesn't actually believe that. He's saying it because it's useful for him to do so. It's hyperbole but you don't appear to recognise that.

I have not offended by being called a "Sad human being" ! I am sure many think of me as being worse than that, indeed I have been called worse !

At the end of the day ALL parties will articulate in a manner which they feel serves them best but we shouldn't go down the route of dismissing everything as mere "Hyperbole". I firmly agree with Cameron regarding the "Chaos" !

I had not called you that as it's not something I believe. I said that blindly following and agreeing with a political party is sad on a human level .

You don't firmly agree with Cameron really, because I doubt he truly believes that another party being voted in will literally cause 'chaos'. He just wants to stay in power and as you say articulates in a manner which he feels best serves that, which is a polite way of saying that all parties aren't averse to telling lies, some whiter than others.

Actually I DO agree with Cameron's sentiments.

In terms of "Articulation" I actually said that ALL parties articulate in a manner which serves them best but this is different from calling them all inveterate "Liars". I think they all have "Spin Doctors" !

I don't see politicians avoiding questions, lying, narrowly falling short of lying, or omitting facts as something to applaud. We can accept that spin happens in politics and that it plays well with voters, but the whole dynamic isn't really something that demonstrates our better selves. Our politicians do this frequently, regardless of party affiliation. The least we can do is acknowledge it.

We tend not to be too forgiving of politicians saying I don't know - and most interviews are pretty adversarial. We laugh when Paxman, Humphrys, Day, Redhead or the Dimblebies land a blow, but I doubt any of them could do much better.

The inheriting the worst debt in the world keeps getting brought up as why Labour could not be trusted

Well, this is an interesting article - and written by a Tory. The facts tell a different story

So it was all "Rosy in the garden" when the Conservatives came to power in 2010 ? Remember the note left by Labour "There is no money left" ?
Hogwash.

As for the question about when is Cameron going to apologise.Cameron has nothing to apologise for given just some of the successes ie

1000 NEW JOBS EVERY DAY. Creation of 1,000 new jobs every day since 2010 - meaning 1,000 more people every day with the security of a pay packet.

2) THE DEFICIT HALVED. Deficit halved as a share of our economy, and building a Britain that lives within its means.

3) INCOME TAX CUT AND BENEFITS CAPPED. Rewarding work, by cutting income tax for over 26 million people and making sure it always pays to work.

I could go on and on....... !
