Is unlikely to accept a wage cut of ~ £70k a week in exchange for "guaranteed first team football", so debate about alleged attitude problems or inconsistency are a bit premature.

Are there seriously people on here suggesting we wouldn't want Adebayor?

Seriously.

Like really?

Adebayor is class. He may lack a bit of motivation at points. But he isn't a £100k a week striker for nothing. He scored 11 goals in 21 league appearances (14 in 25 in total) last season.

That is a terrific record. If we had a striker capable of half of that we would be safe.

I certainly wouldn't, no one in their right mind would and if he did, its as likely to be in exchange for a long contract ala Kanu at Portsmouth (eight years, when he had something like 3 years at that level in him).

An economic disaster waiting to happen.

Not sure if that's true about Kanu according to his Wiki page anyway.

Exactly; at this stage in his career, nobody would turn down £3.5m per year. And, even if he can't find anyone paying his current wage, the world contains a fair few places that will pay much closer to it than we will! Seems odd that people are saying they'd turn him down though. Even going missing from time-to-time, he's still lightyears ahead of anybody we've got, or are likely to acquire any time soon!

It'd be dead money as you'd not be able to sell him on at this stage in his career...especially if he was shyte.

As i said...not worth the money he's currently on and ONLY plays well when there's a contract renewal up for grabs.

I spoke with a Spurs players agent about this the other day and he just laughed and said as much.

I wouldnt. the sheer fact he turned down 3 clubs yeserday then went back to one and agreed terms to which his owned club declined, tells me so much about him. Mercenary.

As good as he has been, I wouldnt want that at Palace and in hindsight, am well happy with what we've drawn in from the day/window.

My Spurs mate forwarded a Twitter feed from a Spurs forum discussing Adebayor turning the chance to join us or QPR down.

Glad.... poor attitude/work ethic and misses a lot of easy chances.

With the wages he's on he would cause disruption and it would only have ended in tears... very expensive ones!

Laziest wage thief a-going. Will only play for a contract and as soon as he has it you get one decent game out of 7.
