Here is a clip where presenter Ashley James gets upset sharing her experience of going through lockdown while pregnant and how she was 'pressured into having the vaccine. Apparently after it's been revealed that claims of lowering transmission weren't known but had been claimed for. I'm told there is quite a lot of anger about this because of the many insults and threats made to those who decided against vaccinating for this particular virus. I remember being told several times that I was an anti vaxxer, even though I've taken several in my lifetime.....but apparently, according to some, if you don't take all of them that's all it needs. I remember on here being told that the vaccine lowered the risk of transmission and being told off for doubting it. if it's true that people were lied to and made health decisions based on state given information that they trusted then that's pretty awful. The 'nudge unit' and all that were involved in it would need to account for this. [Tweet Link]

Edited by Stirlingsays (04 Nov 2022 12.45am) As I have said on these pages many times, everything evolves. That includes our knowledge about new viruses, and the viruses themselves. As the vaccines, when first developed, appeared to lower transmission, it was perfectly reasonable to tell people that. However, it was only one of several reasons why vaccination was, and still is, so important. The most critical of which is to lower the risk of severe disease and, as a consequence, reduce the pressure on the NHS, and thereby allow it to continue to do all the other things we rely upon it for. As time went by, variants appeared and dominated, and our knowledge and experience increased. We learned that whilst the current vaccines did not protect so well against the spread of the variants, they did still protect against severe disease and deliver the benefit to our health service. So being vaccinated has remained every bit as important as it always was. Now new vaccines have been developed specifically to handle the most prevalent of the variants. My recent booster was to protect against Omicron and administered at the same time I got a flu vaccine, designed to protect against the current flu virus. So those who look for excuses to justify their behaviour need to go and look in a mirror instead. It won't wash! It's still as anti-social and irresponsible as it ever was. Claiming that the excuse that was used in the early days (lack of transmission) justifies everything, when it justifies nothing at all, is like a blind dart player hitting the bullseye. It's pure chance. Those with eyes to see the whole board will always win the game. Don't be selfish. Get vaccinated.

Before i get called a remoaner by the same adults who say wet spam ans sliverpool, i might add i dont want to go back in to the EU, i want al;l the brexiteers to have passports confiscated and leave more room on the beach for me! And im quite enjoying the chaos it has caused- people are gutted, they trusted the likes of Jacob who had an office in Dublin, but we voted leave- so suck it up! Just dont pretend it is working when anyone can see its been a disaster- maybe in 100 years it could prove great- but not in our life!
