Farage has certainly lost his lilt. He's peeved at the system and rightfully so. I wonder if he'll stand again later in the year though, like he's hinted. As much stick as he gets, he is a big personality and very capable. He is the very embodiment of UKIP and I wouldn't be suprised to see him stand for the Leadership election in September. I was thinking that myself. I know the purpose of the party doesn't change, but like him or hate him Farage knew how to shore up support like no other. I can see why losing his own seat would seem like a kick in the teeth, but then both Labour and Conservatives really went all out to get rid of him.

291 pages devoted to a Party which ended up with one MP. That's a successful campaign of sorts.
Will be using that later as it's Friday instead of the usual naming of the 1966 World cup winning team.

They've had their 15mins. Nigel is gone. A hotchpotch of a 'Referendum' in two years. No Brexit following. 3rd most popular party vote wise 'yes'. 3rd biggest? Nah. DUP will have more influence than them.
The principles that Ukip stand have received a massive increase over any previous outing....They have three times the votes of the SNP...So in reality their ideals have far more support and it's only the political structure that denies them greater representation...You putting out messages on here to the contrary is similar to just choosing to believe your own narrative instead of the reality. I actually think you're trolling Ukip supporters on here....But the reality is that the principles that Ukip campagined on has received a lot of support. The anti EU vote is rising and getting stronger and those on the left choosing to ignore reality are only fooling themselves.

12.6% of the vote, 0.15% of seats. Is a bit of a crazy situation when you think about it.

The Lib Dems f***ed themselves over by selling themselves short in the coalition with one of their 'prizes' being the AV referendum. What we got with that though was an absurd campaign hellbent on derailing it. I expect we'll be seeing something similar should there be an EU vote. Attachment: b.jpg (57.86Kb)

In this case UKIP won nothing; they ended up with less than they had previously; end of. If the system were different the Tories would've lost control years ago, but it isn't; them's the rules.

The leader isn't that important. Farage appears to want a break anyway....Can't say I blame him...He had that plane crash and never really took a break. Politics isn't everything in life. I have little doubt that he will be back and will win the leadership election. He's very popular on the 'real' right. And he would have been second choice for many Tory supporters......Still being popular also means he's hated by pro-EU supporters.
