I occasionally have a look at there politics forum, CP and Steeleye would love it. Thread after thread about hating the Tories. However they are a strange bunch. They do have several threads about the Labour Party and Keir Starmer etc. but 90% of the posts on those are about how terrible the Tories are. The only time they talk about Starmer or Labour is if there is a positive media story. Any negative news about Labour they ignore. So it's basically a reverse of the Hol?

No, No, No- take them on a coach to Victoria station- and dump them off- to flee and melt in to society !Nice one Cruella Not sure where to start with this reply.

Labour supported all the financial decisions that led to this, in fact they pushed for harder and more lockdowns and they are fully behind Ukraine war policy. It is nothing but pure opportunism by Labour and its supporters, they can only fool the goldfish among us. The continual focus on Brexit is a falsehood as the EU economies are doing no better, in fact the UK is roughly in the middle comparatively and the only reason for that is that we have North sea gas and the Norway supply.....Which if we were in the EU right now we would be expected to share.

Not sure where to start with this reply. I am quite sure this is 100% true. The BF officers I have heard speaking about this seem compassionate, patient and extremely frustrated, whilst being asked to do an impossible job, yet still take criticism from all sides. They urgently need support or someone is going to get seriously hurt. As we have agreed before there is no obvious solution, so I hope someone can get a grip on this and come up with an innovative plan that everyone can get behind and for the political mud slinging to stop. That's in everyone's interests.

Anyone who has read WE's posts over these years just has to laugh at that. Just off the top of my head I recall he called people he didn't like a 'sub species' and only the other day made some quite underhand suggestions on how I left teaching....which aren't true but were quite offensive in of themselves. His mirror only works one way. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Nov 2022 9.08pm) I don't recall the context of the "sub species" comment. It must have been years ago. There certainly have been some here whose approach seemed at odds with what I regard as normal human behaviour. Perhaps I was being a little sarcastic, who knows? If I recall correctly my remark about how and why people leave jobs was a general one and not directed specifically at anyone in particular. Therefore the only reason anyone would get upset is because it touched a nerve somewhere. The innocent have nothing to fear from remarks that don't apply to them, whatever the context.

So it's basically a reverse of the Hol? I don't use the BBS, and only occasionally dip into their football related forums. Never the politics. However, if what is suggested is that it predominately a Tory hating and that this makes it the reverse of the Hol, I don't think that's true. This forum is not really a Tory stronghold. It is a right wing stronghold. Many of the views expressed are more in tune with UKIP and Farage than they are with traditional Tory values. Sure the ERG are a significant element within the party but, as their influence wanes, so the level of criticism of Tory policies has increased here. The centralist part of the Tory party is hated every bit, and sometimes more, than Labour is here. Truss was even given a welcome, until the disaster she obviously was going to be became apparent to even the hardest of the brass nosed here.

Unbelievable I thought that I'd mistakenly ventured on to the Millwall forum. It's not just the thickos in the politics forum as it seems that they monopolize other forums too and insult anyone who disagrees with them. One fellow monopolizes a thread about outdoor smokers detailing what and how he cooks things and I had the temerity to suggest that I didn't like the taste of smoked meats covered in rubs to which he told me that I was obviously new to barbecuing and was doing it all wrong. I probably bought my first bbq before he was born but many of the dicks over there don't like anyone with a different opinion on anything be it politics or food

The continuation in high average excess deaths is sadly still very much with us: the media are not that interested. Here is Dr John Campbell on the issue. Edited by Stirlingsays (03 Nov 2022 4.00pm)
