So many people on here have a false idea of who we are and what we can realistically achieve. It’s disappointing to lose and not to play very well, but the moaning and the disrespect towards a fine manager is way over the top. Many Palace fans sound like those Charlton whingers who demanded Curbishley was sacked because they wanted someone else to take the club to another level. They’re certainly on another level now. Roy is a tactical master who knows how to keep relatively small clubs in the PL. He is not perfect but we have started the season well and are unlikely to go down. He has sacrificed one of the three DMs so we should see better football most of the time. I’m glad he’s our manager and think we will have a good season.

1 shot. Regards.

Well I guess we’ll never experience the disappointment of throwing away a 3 goal lead in the last 10 minutes! No chance of us scoring 3

We were absolute total shit and can do nothing to change that, perhaps against Fulham we might be a little happier.

And if we play the same way?

Looking at our last 15 results, I would suggest Man U away was the anomaly / off day. Today was very much business as usual I am afraid.

Chris Hughton had to leave in order for Brighton to become more attractive, the same will be for Roy .. meanwhile we have to sit on our hands.

Roy is not going to be around for long.

It's not too difficult to be more attractive and get relegated too. It's happened many times. Would that make everyone happy? Or should we hang on in there whilst the academy stabilises and maybe the ownership changes? Who would you think more likely to go down between today's two teams?

Today's game was changed by the goal. I think we would have allowed Brighton to bang on the closed door for the first half and then got more expansive in the second with Eze coming on. Going in front changed that and we then just kept the door shut. Only the smallest of margins stopped us going 2 up too.

I am somewhere in the middle. I think we have the makings of a solid mid table team. But we need to strengthen across the spine of the team in January?

I would have a massive clear out at the end of the season if I had the choice. Wilf needs to go but the dilemma will be the peanuts on offer. Eze needed to come on today at just after half time, regardless of any tantrums from Wilf. There are a dodgy couple of years ahead. I expect us to survive but the squad has less than eleven decent players, let alone 25.

I pray Roy shows some positivity next week against Fulham as that is a must and should be win game Playing Riedewald regularly who is a talent and Eze who was bought as a flair player will put a smile on we long suffering supporters if Roy releases the shackles on his ever cautious mind set and Is not totally reliant on a downhearted Zaha as our would be match winner

I’m willing to take a bet that Roy won’t willingly start Eze and Riedewald in central midfield with two up front.
He’s too cautious.
Hindsight is a wonderful think but when Batshuayi came off today surely Eze or even Benteke would have made more sense than Luka as a replacement.
We were left with a half fit Zaha up front and totally handed the initiative to Brighton.
Roy is what he is and won’t change, but it makes for a frustrating watch.
We shouldn’t be defending with 10 behind the ball at home to Brighton.
Roy seems stuck in a time warp of Italian 1960’s catenaccio defensive tactics for those old enough to remember.

At least the Italians made it look stylish. We make it look like an afternoon in Bewise.

We got the ball into their box 4 times in the entire game and our only shot was penalty.

Managers have been sacked immediately for far less.

The further into the game we went, the more I wanted us to lose. I feel awful saying that but we need a wake up call.

As many have already said, 1 attempt at home to a bottom half team is not acceptable. I firmly believe we have enough talent in our squad/team to score plenty of goals with equally enough tactical defensive nouse to remain solid.

Zaha, Eze, Batshuayi, Townsend interchanging could be a real threat but are so thwarted in this style of play.

I’m not saying anything new here. I just feel so deflated and embarrassed that millions would have watched the team I love and rave about put in a display like that.
