Like some others today, I don’t believe Eddie Howe is the answer. Not sure who is, but it needs an new injection of ideas, strategy, tactics, and a platform to allow some skilful, creative footballers to flourish.

Again, I would agree that Hodgson staying on in some capacity would be a wrong move too.

I hope Mr Parish reads this forum so he knows what fans actually think!

Roy's post match interview said it all really. Nothing really wrong. Nearly got all three points.

Is he really unaware of how awful Palace have become?

Stats can be misleading but the stats for Palace tell the story.

Yep.

Well, if he did, he would know what some fan's think but I am sure he is more than capable of making up his own mind! My thoughts are that some perspective needs to be shown - for sure it was a poor performance from Palace and the inability to do anything much in an attacking sense was really disappointing. Watching on TV, you could sense Brighton would equalise and possibly then get a winner - at least that didn't happen.
There were some positives - the central defensive partnership looked really solid and Riedewald was outstanding in midfield. He showed what he could do last season when he was MOM against Arsenal when playing at left back.
That said, the Chelsea second half and this match were certainly poor but before then, the start had been fine and the football ok. My sense would be to put it down to a "bad day at the office" and move on. Roy and Ray will be more than aware of what needs to be done and I think Palace will both beat Fulham next week and go on a decent run - the fundamentals of a good team are there.
I also suspect he will make a change at left back. Teams have clearly been targeting Mitchell and it showed both yesterday and at Chelsea - the PL is a brutal environment for a young player to learn his trade.

He used to but sadly I’m not entirely convinced that many chairman really give much of a toss what the fans think, these days.

I can’t see him going this season unless we have a similar run to the end of last season and look like we’re struggling in the bottom 3.
When Parish has acted before in the case of De Boer and Warnock it appeared that certain key elements of the dressing room weren’t behind the manager and briefing Parish on the discontent.
I am not sure that Parish has the same relationship with the current crop of players, and in any event most of the players seem behind Roy.
Games are being played behind closed doors so the fans’ discontent is being largely played out online which is unlikely to concern Parish too much.
If we keep the current points to games ratio we are likely to stay up comfortably.
So more of the same I’m afraid as Roy definitely won’t change his approach.

i can imagine sp giving the chairmen of charlton and stoke call and saying the fans are going doolally about rh and asking for advice.it would be something like this - steve old chap whatever you do don't listen to them unless you want to end up like us and regret it. and if you did then most of them would leave you and you'll end with no crowds to speak of, no money and no decent players either.

How bad do we have to get before you’d accept a change is needed? Are results the only consideration, or should performances also be looked at?

How many Palace games have you enjoyed watching in the last 24 months?

I wholeheartedly concur.

At home we have played 3 PL games, scored 3 goals, 1 from the penalty spot. Our possession stats in these games :
Southampton 29%, Everton 42% and against Brighton 34%.

I believe that supporters have had enough, there is only so much we can take.

and the best of those teams was Everton who we played well against and had the best possession stats (for us). We had a go against them. I accept that against Soton we were happy to let them play suicide defending.
It's crazy that we have to sit back against Brighton just because they play Potterball and we don't seem to know how to get the ball off them. (Was the same at home against them last year).
Will someone please tell Parish that we fans pay good money to be entertained for at least some of the match!

Why would you reward a failing manager with a cushy job? I see your intention is to try and be respectful, and perhaps two years ago we could have asked Roy to help with a managed transition but we are currently on a run of 2 wins in 13.

No manager worth his salt would accept a role in a job where the old manger is still lingering around.

Not sure if Howe is the right man for the job, but we have an established, experienced, and professional group of players. Even if he doesn't succeed, it's very unlikely we'd get relegated with the squad we have. Worth a punt.

That is very bold and optimistic statement, hope it does not come back to haunt you!

Doom bear made a good point, which may have been forgotten.

Fans pay good money to be entertained.

The Brighton match was NOT a one off. When Hodgson speaks it is always about trying to avoid relegation. I know every team wants to get to 38-40 points and I get that, but we never have any ambitious chat or aspirations to get well into the top half. Aspirations and expectations are far too low and this negative 'drip feed' affects players and fans.

Hodgson was right yesterday when he said that this is the best squad in his time. Now is the time for leadership and ambition.

The fans are a powerful body. It seems to me that there is a great deal of discontent.

I believe our Home supporters would like to feel more comfortable instead of biting our nails until the final whistle.
Last season we won a meagre 6 games at home and 5 of them were by the single goal, ie 1-0,2-1,1-0,1-0,1-0.The only home game we won by more than a solitary goal was when we defeated Norwich 2-0 and of course they finished rock-bottom.
