I’m afraid that the 100% stark reality is that the only way we can play attractive/attacking football AND stay in the Premier is to have new owners who will invest hundreds of millions into the squad. The sad fact is that the only type of manager/coach that could currently dream of getting enough points for us to stay up (let alone achieve our current miraculous tally) is a wily old head like Roy, Alladyce or Pulis who can grind out results however they have to and get an aging and tiny squad (many of which are Championship standard) to overachieve on regular basis.

DeBoer was perceived as the dream ticket and we’d have been relegated by Christmas unless Roy had come in.

Bournemouth spent a fortune this season on players and will be a Championship side next season. There is no way in the world our owners will take such a risk, so the only answer is for us to pray for a sugar daddy or to accept that what we have now is the absolute best we will ever get in the current set-up and try and enjoy it.

Great post 100 per cent correct

The miracle of getting results out of this squad are surely going to come to end very soon.

Just look at the players who are now 30 and above :-

Ward, Kelly, Dann, Tomkins, Cahill, Sakho, Van Annholt (30 in August), McArthur, McCarthy, Kouyate, Benteke (30 later this year).

The owners have got away with it for a few seasons now, but reality is that new/younger players are required, otherwise a fall is almost certain.

100% agree with this. We have been skating on thin ice all season. Lots of people crying and moaning about team selection and lack of subs but not one of them has come up with a better alternative.

I disagree. For our first season up I never feared for our safety.

Next season on the other hand. Only so long you can wing it with dads army.

Not this crap again about him but being backed again.

Parish's biggest mistake at the moment is sticking buy that washed up dinosaur.

He's has had quality players in and barely used them. Reiedwald, Camarassa, Mayer, Sorloth all not getting a look in. AWB wouldnt have had a chance if it weren't for the fact we run out of other options.

Wickham came on, scored vs Norwich and forced an own goal v City then shipped off on loan.

A mangers biggest concern should be recruited, Roy avoids getting involved so he can have an excuse.

Pierrek contributed to the build up of the goal against Norwich then didn't get a look in again. When he got 8 minutes vs Liverpool at 4-0 down, Woy suddenly thought that he should be bought a bottle of wine for letting him have the opportunity.

We're on relegation form at the moment. If nothing changes then we will go down next season. More depressingly, we'll pay to get served up the same old s***. Roy will never change. He's got to go.

We've got the 9th highest wage bill in the league, a team of decent players who arent used to their strengths. Or tactic of sticking everyone behind the ball and hoping the Wilf does something special isn't working.

3 holding midfielders that barely make a tackle and cant pass.

1 goal from 150 corners yet he still insist 6'2 luka should take them.

We never play an early ball to Benteke, whys he never at the far post for set peice either, everyone knows that's where we are going to stick it.

There must be a correlation between lack of subs and injuries.

Yeah, huge mistake by Parish sticking by a manager that kept us up against the odds in his first season, and has kept the club in the Premier League to date.

Quality players not used ? - Meyer hasn't set the world on fire and yet people like you seem to see a player that has so far failed to establish himself and lay the blame with the manager. Did you ever see Sorloth play ? - He was crap no two ways about it. Jairo I grant you looks decent but we already have plenty of similar players - what difference is he truly going to make ? Camarassa ? - dunno, that was a strange one.

Wickham - looked like a pub player. Getting his fitness back on loan and quite rightly so. He was never going to be the answer to our goalscoring problems.

The manager being involved in recruitment - do you seriously think that the manager '' avoids being involved '' ? - Jeez get a grip and start to understand how football works these days.

'' Relegation form at the moment '' - totally agree. Luckily just a couple of weeks ago our form suggested we could compete for a European spot.

Wage bill ? - Do you think Hodgson agrees players wages ??

Taking corners - well my preference is for the best strikers of a dead ball and I don't think Luka has a big reputation as a header of the ball. ( cue Harry Kane comments ! )

Hodgson isn't perfect and I can't defend the quality of play offered beyond the fact that it serves it's purpose.

But seriously, don't lay the blame for everything on him because it simply doesn't stack up.

Each to their own, that’s what opinions are about. We’ll never know whether another manager would have done better with the same group of players as they will be drawing their pension by the time we get a new manager.

So take Liverpool out of the equation, we are the second lowest spenders at about 5.5m. Its bloody miracle we are not down there with Norwich.

Another miserly transfer window and we most definately will be.

Is that not testament to how well Roy has done?

Those calling for him to resign or be sacked are batty.

That said, ask him to field the same team next season and even he won't be able to perform the miracle he has this season.

Fair enough, but I don't think the claim of keeping us in the premiership "against the odds" or "on a shoe string" is correct.

I would expect a manager in any industry to be getting involved in every detail of the running of their team. Especially when it comes to who's in the personel are, and roughly what wages they are on.

Corners are a side issue, but a stat was raised on Saturday that we've scored 1 goal from 150 corners. We continually seem to get Luka to take them and aim them towards Tompkins on the far post. PVA has a fairly decent set peice on him and he's 5'8, after 150 corner attepts give someone else a go?

Admittately Sorloth looked awful, but so did Reidewald in his first game of his recent run in the team. Players need game time, and why have two strikers shipped out on loan when Benteke is our only option. Surely it must be helpful to at least have an option of bringing them on with 10 minutes to go when you need to chase a game.

I keep saying, Roy's not awful, but managers like him and Pardew, BFS, Pulis, Hughes and Bruce are all pretty limited, not long term solutions. Hodgson's had a decent run, but it wont recover from here. If the board need to invest, he's not the manager to give money too.
