That, and another 20 u turns to be announced- its U turn after U turn - no idea comes to mind! Is the summit in Liverpool then?

I"m no great fan of sir Keir but he absolutely smasghed Rishi rich today- the facts speak for themselves no matter how good a speaker you are- Rich was squirming at- "the home secretary saying the system is broke-and who to blame? You have been in for 12 years- who can you blame? "classic , but so so easy when the incompetence is there for all to see! You did hear him say Labour had voted against the Immigration and Border Act did you? And against everything else that had been proposed to sort out the problem?

I have commented elsewhere on a variety of suggestions on how to try to bring the underlying problem under control, and had responses which indicate just how complicated and challenging it is. The situation at Manston is an immediate one, which needs action outside of tacking the underlying issue. If you actually knew me you would know how stupid such a suggestion is, never mind how offensive. I regret that making snide and completely inappropriate assertions is a very unpleasant feature of the internet. I'll refrain from responding in kind. Some of us retain some integrity.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Anyone who has read WE's posts over these years just has to laugh at that. Just off the top of my head I recall he called people he didn't like a 'sub species' and only the other day made some quite underhand suggestions on how I left teaching....which aren't true but were quite offensive in of themselves. His mirror only works one way. Edited by Stirlingsays (02 Nov 2022 9.08pm)

A persistent majority of Britons think Brexit was a mistake, one of the UK's leading pollsters said Wednesday, forecasting near-certain defeat for the Conservatives at the next election. Why? Historically it would be difficult to recover from a financial disaster in any event. The British polling Council. The Rishi bounce may be short-lived he has dropped a real clanger over leaky Sue and not sacked her (weak).

The tories have created the financial deficit, but it is not the great financial disaster they are claiming they will fix with all the wrong sticks that have failed repeatedly, but which they think they will get credit for and win the next election. There are plenty of ways to close this gap without imposing any hardship and cutting services when you would not think it possible. HS2 is over 100 billions it is unnecessary and the good bits, the add-ons, have been cancelled anyway. One needs only to mention the Home Office a never-ending financial disaster and there are plenty of others that should be paying for this. And the same old measures will further damage the UK with its under-investment low growth and productivity. Growth is like the 'benefits of brexit', the more you press for detail the more disillusioned you become as you realise there just isn't going to be any. I agree on HS2, bin it now before it eats more money. Much better spend on connecting the cities in the North and Midlands and getting some semblance of working bus services.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
