Leicester are one in a million I would suggest and I think with owners far richer than ours

Nothing wrong with aiming high and of course we shouldn’t roll over and die but it’s just reality

If you don’t want to think about Norwich and Watford how about the following which you may remember depending on your age;

Coventry, Charlton, Leeds, Stoke, West Brom, Bolton, Blackburn, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Fulham, QPR, Wolves , Ipswich

Massively depressing I agree, but unfortunately realistic

Inspirational stuff - we’re all going to die sometime, might as well sit on our backsides and wait for the lights to go out

The lights are out, why do you think we all watch this football club.

Welcome to Hell.

Do you know how much Blitzer and Harris are worth? Around $6 Billion between them. The Srivaddhanaprabha family that own Leicester are worth approx £4.6 Billion.

I wouldn’t say Leicester were one in a million, I would say they have owners who are more willing to invest in their team.

How much profit, I wonder?

To some with exceptional amounts of money, profit can mean league position and prestige. It’s not always just cash in bank. Interestingly, the by-product of success is the ability to earn more, spend more and create an upward spiral of achievement which (as Liverpool has show on many many occasions), can then make your cast off players appear more valuable than they truly are. Therefore there can be profit in success.

I wonder how much Brewster, Solanke, Sakho and Benteke would have been worth if they were not at Liverpool?

That’s a good point about Liverpool extracting maximum value when they sell.
I can’t offhand recall them selling a player who has gone on to greater things significantly increasing in value.
Perhaps Ings, but in fairness he had big injury problems and Southampton took a gamble on him.
I don’t think Palace’s record when selling has been too bad and we attracted maximum value for Bolassie and AWB.
This summer could be different with potentially significant write offs for Sakho, Benteke and Wickham - although there would be savings on wages with replacements unlikely to attract similar deals.

Our Americans probably do think it's all about cash in the bank.

‘’ I would say they have owners who are more willing to invest in their team’’’

Exactly we may have owners which are richer which I didn’t know but as per my original point

Palace need investment or will go down like everyone does

Yep. Alas, not all billionaires are philanthropic.

More begging letters..... please Mr Rich American, risk all your money on my hobby otherwise I'll tell all my friends your a b******

For the club to be successful it has to be self sustaining.

Wealthy owners can add capital for investment the clubs non-playing assets to help the club grow without taking on high risk bank loans (assuming the bank would lend money to a football club in the first place).

I have not posted on this topic before, but I see it every day and would like to say a few things:

I am a Palace fan like the rest of you and, like the rest of you I am delighted when we win and upset when we lose.

I have been a Palace fan for over 40 years and seen many ups and downs. Under Roy we have seen more ups, and have remained in the Premier League, which is the most important thing.

His teams are not boring (like Warnock's for example) and have flair players like Wilf, Eze and (hopefully) the new striker, who we can get excited about.

We have been unlucky with injuries (the worst in the Premier league)

We are currently 14th with the 15th most expensive squad (let's be realistic)

I don't believe the players are not trying (they are aging and tired and sometime simply outplayed by a better team)

Things are not perfect at the moment and I will shout at the TV and much as the next man, but let's get behind Roy and the team for now and if he is replaced, thank him and hope the new manager can keep us up and continue to support exciting players that (occasionally) make our day.

PS I have never liked the title "Roy Out". Why not just "Roy"
