Perfect common sense you speak there. I would add that Roy has for the vast majority of the time served up boring football, although I have to admit it was boring and relatively successful, therefore looking for a change was perhaps unjustified. However it is now both boring and failing to get results which is not a great combination. When you add on what looks like unmotivated players it is a recipe for disaster. I hope he can turn this around and guarantee safety but I’m not convinced it will be that easy for him to do. I want to see the players playing like it is an FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, but will we see that sort of commitment? If they can’t get up for this match knowing what it means to the fans then we will know they have lost interest. In our last game against Brighton, they looked much more fired up than us. I wasn't happy about that.

The buck does stop at the manager after all and what is good for the goose is good for the gander. Or does Roy have a free pass? Edited by southnorwoodhill (16 Feb 2021 3.17pm) I believe I have commented on this already on HOL, opining that IF we get into a precarious position whereby relegation is a distinct possibility, a decision could well be taken to appoint from within on an 'Interim' basis. We do have a couple of Ex-managers in our ranks!

There's an incredible amount of angst being spewed out in this thread, but it still seems to me that no-one disagrees with the preferred outcome. It's all a question of timing. Now is not the right time to part company with the manager. He's done well to keep us in the PL with limited resources and it would be ungracious in the extreme to wave goodbye before the season ends. Parish has his faults too - nobody's perfect - but I'd be very surprised if planning for Roy's replacement is not well progressed by now. I hope to see Roy being thanked for doing a great job after he resigns gracefully in August. Then we make all the necessary changes to the squad to give us a bright start to our next PL campaign.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I agree too but would like to see Roy resigning within a week of the season ending and not leaving it as late as August. Also I hope Parish is already lining up his replacement.

We'll defend really deep to try and stop them scoring early.this will of course give them the initiative, possession and settle into an attacking rhythm and ultimately play us off the park.

But when we lose, people will say for the millionth time that its just a one off and we should keep him so he can do exactly the same against Fulham, and ever other team til the end of the season.

Not so sure that's the case anymore. I've noticed there are only a couple of Roy supporters left. A poor performance and they may change their minds too.

I'd be amazed if he continues after this season absolutely amazed considering the problems we are having now, we need two to three more wins to settle this once and for all and get this awful spell done with, A new manager comes in for next season and we can all start a new fight lol, or do you seriously think we'll not achieve another win for the remaining games ...I don't know why I asked you this because I already know your answer lol
