it may well be that UKIP represent what most of us think, but realistically - would we be any better at running the nation this way? what i mean is, ideally many of us want this and that, but does it translate well in the wider picture - when has a party ever gone in and totally shaken things up. Things take time, messes need to be cleaned up and it isn't that easy. Politicians are no more more than puppets and 'yes' people to the higher powers that be - banks and corporations. Would UKIP stand their ground and piss off the economical world or eventually get their hands twisted and be just another puppet?
More than TUSC and the Greens I see. Good name the Green Party, as you must be very green indeed to vote for them.

Over 3,000 posts about UKIP, a party that many of the posters dismiss as unimportant, not a threat, will not get many votes. Why the interest then? UKIP is possibly the most important political party in England at the moment as it's their huge number of supporters that could decide the outcome of the general election. Historically 85% of voters (that's my guess) vote along traditional lines and it's the remaining 15% of floating voters that decide the outcome of elections but it's quite possible that those voters that have defected from Conservative to UKIP will stop any party from an outright victory and with the political landscape having changed north of the border with the possibility that SNP will win every seat at Labour's expense the result is likely to be a mess with no party having the authority to govern without having to make deals with unsavoury partners and it's that, that makes UKIP important

Re: Amount of posts. Any new-ish (at the time) political group with seemingly far right or left views create huge amounts of interest. The National Front They always end up where they belong though.

Just considering the Green's transport policy, which is basically that everyone walks and cycles everywhere. Concerned about the effects on the environment from all that sweat and body odour that will be produced, will it damage the ozone layer or cause lentil plants to wilt?

Comparing UKIP to those other "parties" is really pathetic. Do you rabid Lefties ever give up ? I would look at your constituency and vote either UKIP or Conservative depending on th poll at the last election. Keeping Labour out is the priority. Edited by TheJudge (02 May 2015 9.39am)

For a start, those mentioned never had anything like the projected vote percentage of UKIP.

They deserve the coverage and they deserve the scrutiny. So many have been expelled in the last couple of years it would be wholly inappropriate not to make them jump through some hoops to put their case.
