I do disagree with you here. I know you judge Ebs to be the diamond in the crown but for me it is, without doubt, Olise that deserves that accolade. His vision, magical left foot and the fact that he's only 21 are incredible. The figure of 45m would be an insult imo because it is he, barring major injury or mishap, that will go on to prove that he is a top, top player. If we had to let him go, it should not be for anything south of 70m at this stage in his career. I agree about Joachim. I'd rather see Guehi go than Andersen. Edited by Glazier#1 (15 Aug 2023 1.23pm) I agree with all of that bar the comparison of Olise and Eze as I'd rather just avoid that altogether, both magic!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Does anyone, anywhere (apart from Palace and Olise himself) have the slightest idea if has or has not a valid release clause ? It's about time we all know.

Some reports online a deal has been agreed betweens us and Chelsea around the £40mil mark for Olise, in and around the sum reported as his release clause. If true it'll be incredibly disheartening to see championship Southampton get £20mil more for Lavia who in my opinion isn't anywhere close to MO's level. Edited by Wilesy01 (15 Aug 2023 2.51pm)

Edited by Wilesy01 (15 Aug 2023 2.51pm) 40m euros according to Dailycpfc(whoever the fcuk they are) Also, if you think about it, its hardly suprising seeing as he's injured. So, if he were to go, then Chelsea would have to continue his rehabilitation & all that goes with it. Same way we picked up that permanent sick-note, Ferguson. This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Someone in France seems very keen to have Olise sold to Chelsea. This story constantly seems to be generated from there. Our click bait invariably follow as if led by the nose. They now say a deal in principle. Whatever the principle is , it certainly isn’t one of Palace receiving full value.

I’ll believe it if & when I hear it from the club. atm it’s just click bait quoting £35m which everyone knows is the rumoured release clause. There’s no detail about wages, length of contract, anything in return, etc etc

On BBC Sport now too, fantastic. We've lost both our wingers and bought none, stupendous.

Olise has been clever in first getting the release clause with Reading and then (seemingly) getting a relatively accessible one with us. It's sh*t just as it was sh*t for Reading, but we at least get a decent profit, albeit not at the level it would have been without the clause. Him being injured does soften the blow as he does seem a bit soft and possibly injury prone (trying to prepare myself for his departure by looking for weaknesses!). Where that leaves Madueke and Sterling at Chelsea you wonder as to me Olise looked a bit lost in the middle and with no European football they won't be having a 50-60 game season. Surely one of them will have to leave. I'd happily take Madueke. One injured right-winger for another. The thing I don't get is why this has dragged on? Were Chelsea trying to get him for less than £35m? If the clause is there they should have just offered it weeks ago and given us more time to find a replacement.
