Come on peoples, we are on 7 points, 2 wins, one draw, two loses, including a win at manchester united, today was an off day against a well organised bha, Roy has kept us steady over his tenure and we could do a lot worse,(remember the fdb debacle). who wants the europa league nonsense, a sure way to get relegated next season. On the plus side, a relegation bottom of table battle keeps the season interesting right to the end, we should strengthen in January with a bid for shakiri, Liverpool want rid. Why should we go for yet another Liverpool reject?

They don't have to and don't want to because we are a million miles away from being relegated under Roy, he is quite obviously leaving under his own steam possibly at end of this season and it will be the new managers job to make us more attractive to watch, nothing is going to change meanwhile. Thanks for stating the bleeding obvious. That you steve? Million miles away? You sure Sounds just like the club and Roy you are happy with the shower of **** served up. That's the point of having Mr Hodgson here, it was never intended to be expansive ..just a means to get us over the line and to be in this league to pass the baton over at the right time to the right person. Wow. You’ve changed your tune a bit.

Yeah but there's being pragmatic and putting up the "white flags" before a ball is even kicked..!! Two entirely different things..!! In any event I stand by what I said, team/squad is good enough at this level, its the tactics that are woefully lacking..!! COYP I don't disagree. Still pointing out we have a much poorer side than people seem to want to admit. With Wilf playing poorly and Bats just on a loan, in his first full game of the season, plus others injured or just back from injured we are rubbish basically. Some players are adequate at best. This is not a great side, particularly considering Brighton are rubbish and totally outplayed us.

We were absolute total shit and can do nothing to change that, perhaps against Fulham we might be a little happier. I wholeheartedly concur with these sentiments. We were the lowest scorers in the PL bar Norwich who were rock-bottom and Hodgson said he wanted attacking players with a goal threat. I re-iterate we could bring in a whole host of attacking players but we would still not offer a goal threat due to the dour tactics deployed. It's going to be the "Same old, same old" this season and we will be bored rigid.

But we need to strengthen across the spine of the team in January?

This says it all.. BBC 'We opted for the siege mentality'
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson, speaking to BBC Sport: "The quality of the defensive performance and effort they put in against a good team. We defended our way almost to a very good three points. It is something that can happen, in the first or the 95th minute - if the opponent have the ball around your area it can fall kindly or get the fortune with a deflection, which I'm sure they would say is fully deserved. "We started to show our teeth at times in the first half. But unfortunately there is always something in a game when you lead 1-0 and the opponent is taking the game to you, there is something that brings a siege mentality to see the game through. Had we got the second goal you would have seen a different mentality, But we decided on the siege mentality and it almost saw us through. "There is a lot more we have to give. We ran into a Brighton team that played well today. We were good enough defensively and with our discipline and spirit to come away with three points but we wouldn't be whooping for joy saying that is all our tactical work solved. Luckily I am now doing it with a group with competition for places." On VAR: "It has been opted for. VAR was opted for. It was seen as better and ruling out clear errors of judgment. As it happens I don't know that there are so many from the on-field officials. It has brought us into a different world where when a goal is scored you wit to see if it will be chalked off. There are always going to degrees after a round of games of managers feeling they were either harshly or less harshly treated." How can a man's standards be that low? Where is his self respect?
