Yes good post .Its not entirely Roy's fault I agree .The fact is we are suffering from lack of involvement over the last 10 years or so Most clubs in premiership even championship have already got decent grounds and academy set up,so a more money can be spent on the playing side .We are definitely punching above our weight in the premiership and by keeping Wilf and the odd bit of luck have managed to survive. But its come to a head now and its not even a question of tinkering here and there .Any new manager will have to rebuild from nearly scratch. Most players in premiership are comfortable on the ball and athletic we currently are not.Big job ahead and a lot of pressure for new manager before he even starts.

I think that’s about it. We are in a tricky situation, and we will drop more points yet. In what will be considered an unsatisfactory way. If we didn’t have 29 pts. and some reliable players to come in. It could be considered terminal.
But it’s been a while in the making. Hodgsons problem is to have taken the last contract he could have avoided trying to squeeze some genuine performances out of a limited group.
A new manager will have to be allowed to rebuild. I suspect it will be more a case of making use of a rebuild , constructed by Parish, and Dougie. And there could be no real change in the standards set. But we live in hope.

Once again, will you please stop saying with respect when you don’t mean it. Your point does not even address my point it just misdirects back to two victories that were largely fortunate as you well know. We did not play well in those victories and the confusion you say didn’t exist was more than visible during those games as well as the recent losses.

Defenders looking at each other and wondering why neither has closed down the ball. Players constantly playing out of position, other players standing shaking their heads in disbelief (mostly Wilf to be fair). The players have completely lost confidence in the tactics and this is becoming more and more apparent.

I am absolutely amazed that you see only poor players. But I realise you will never blame the manager for anything whether it be poor tactics, poor motivation, the lack of a plan and the ability to change that plan during the course of a game.

Confused is exactly what I see out on the pitch. We have lost our way as a team and as I said, there is only one person who carries the can for that.

Please spare me the Dads Army response and 15 players in their 30’s, etc, etc.

I completely agree with you fed up with people constantly making excuses & blaming it on the players ages amongst other things.

Roy has to take the blame never changes a formation when one clearly is not working, never plays a system that suits the players at his disposal constantly plays players out of position.

Plays negative tactics,

Plays 2 strikers but refuses to put crosses into the box or provide any sort of service.

Look at Burnley first 10 minutes put 3 crosses into the box & scored 2 goals.

Sorry but the buck has to stop with Roy 4 wins in 20 just not good enough.

The buck always stops with the manager, he is the one responsible. Fair enough. What would FdB say I wonder watching this shower of s***? Brought in to change the playing style yet sacked after 4 games whilst not having the players to make the change in style? The buck always stops with the manager.

Klopp needs to look at himself in the mirror then and also Hasenhuttl, it's been proven that what WBA did with Bilic was so wrong that where they find themselves now has set them back before he even joined them, all his hard work undone ..ridiculous club and we'd be exactly the same if Mr Hodgson was to walk seriously we will.
I know I'm wasting my time saying that lol but we need stability at this very moment.

FdB actually bullied his players for not being able to play the way he wanted, something that is not acceptable.

I think you’ll find Klopp has a Premier League and Champions League title behind him as well as a brilliant spell at Dortmund.
Perhaps not the best example to compare to Hodgson who failed miserably with Liverpool.
Clearly there can be no meeting of the minds between the pro and anti Hodgson brigades.
The pro brigade will continue to find every excuse for him under the sun.
I actually don’t think the squad is that bad, and would love to see what a Brendan Rodgers type coach would do with them.
He would surely as a minimum put players in their correct positions and try to utilise the strengths of the existing players rather than shoehorn them in outdated tactical systems that are continually found wanting.

Brendon, would turn us down flat, being the problem. What would that say.?

I said Brendan Rodgers type coach.
Interestingly enough he made his name at Swansea and we are reportedly looking at their current manager, Steve Cooper.
They also had Martinez there.
It would appear there are other ways to play football than using the methods employed by Hodgson after all and it doesn’t necessarily mean kamikaze attacking football doomed to failure.
Open minds called for.

I'd imagine if someone like Nigel Pearson agreed to join he'd actually end up in jail lol, as for Rodgers we'd never ever be able to afford him let alone provide players.

Nigel Pearson would murder a couple of our players for sure. However, he could probably avoid prison as he could plead temporary insanity. Pearson's Solicitor could show the jury our performances and Pearson could even get acquitted.

Funny enough when Tickled Pink mentioned that rotter FdB being a bully I immediately imagined what it would be like if Pearson became our manager...
