Roy would have to be a safe bet with regular health checks. In the last ten games we have been exceptional.
New striker, two wing backs. Lermer. Keep Guehi. Don’t re sign Zaha.

Bring back Banks and Raki Saki.
Try out some more of our youth.

That should give us top 10.

Agreed. Paddy needs to go elsewhere and gets his training and experience and if he succeeds come back.

There were siren voices on here ages ago about Shaun Derry becoming our manager but hindsight has shown he is more a put the cones out guy not the manager.

Disagree completely, if Roy stays for a year with Ray and Paddy at the end of the season Roy being a truthful and objective man, can access whether after a year of coaching he is up yo it, if Roy dosent stay then no.

Even if parties agree for Roy to stay for one more year,we will have to face same issues next year.
There are some talented managers out now and we coud do a lot worse than looking at Rogers,Potter or Cooper if he decides cto walk away from Forest.

yup, and even more Alan Pardew type managers available for employment.

To employ a Carlo Ancelloti or Maurizio Pochetinno is a very rare thing indeed.

I don’t get this , keep Roy as a mentor for Paddy. If Paddy needed a mentor he shouldn’t be given the job . Who ever does the job has to be full on, it can’t be someone having their strings pulled by someone else.
All due respect to him , but McCarthy would be a massive risk, his first eight games would amount to a trial for his ability, Palace can not risk that, though it would give Roy thirty games this time to get it sorted.
The league gets better more demanding every season, Palace have improved ,just to appear to stand still in many ways, and that at least must continue, but only someone with some sort of high level track record for dealing with the problems of maintaining a presence in the Premier league should be considered.

This is absolutely right. As I have said many times you do not risk a 100m+ annual income on the abilities of a novice. Mentoring? What complete rubbish. Who ever did that and made a success of it?
If Parish went down that road he'd deserve to be relegated. Trust me all you romantics out there who have an obsession with ex players. Its not going to happen. Lets put a business head on instead of a misty eyed fans one eh?

100% in agreement. But I think we also need to write Paddy into the equation: what is he expecting from his current role? Does he hope that one day it will lead to first team manager?

You may be right. You may not.

However, the u21 was all conquering under Paddy. He then went up to 1st team. And then they were not.

Disagree about Rogers. Both he and Potter have suffered reputational damage but their quality remains. I'd prefer Cooper to either of those. From next Monday on and after the cup final, things might become clearer.
