Vieira wasn't one of my top choices but I'm quite intrigued to see what he brings to the table now he's here and, specifically, the type of players and style of football that he goes for.

The last couple of years have been all about safety, both in terms of supporting Palace and life in general. I'm definitely ready for a change, taking a few risks and the excitement that brings.

Cannot wait to get back to Selhurst and get a few beers down me.

Probably more chance of us making top 4 than beers being organised properly at selhurst for the start of the season.

Guaita
Ward
Tomkins
Kelly
Mitchell
Ayew
McArthur
Luka
Zaha
Benteke
Mateta?

That looks really weak - it needs signings to genuinely impact the starting 11.

We released Sam Woods. Rak-Sakyi isn't at the standard yet either, way too lightweight - evident just by watching U23 football let alone Premier League, and not good enough to get around that David Silva style.

Looking forward to seeing who we can get - we can offer genuine first team football which has to be attractive.

MY team, NO, just replying to an earlier post.
Disagree with R-S, he's been added to the 1st team squad. If you don't play them, you will never know, bit like our manager.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

As you have outlined an absolute winner - also played under Wenger, coached under Guardiola - two of the greatest Managers of the last two decades..!!

Also thought he came across very well as a pundit in the Euros - talked a lot of sense..!!

There’s no way he’d come to Palace unless he thought/knew he would/was going to be backed in terms of investment.

Viera is not just a Premier League star he’s a global star..!!

I just don’t understand some of the negative comments on here - moaning no Manager being appointed - then one is who is a massive name - still moaning. Just no pleasing some folk..!!

Come on PV let’s now start getting in some exciting young talent - starting with Micheal Olise - also French so with PV now as Manager must give us a good chance..!!

Come on Viera...!!

OMG...!!

If this is true, this is an unbelievable signing..!!

This boy is unreal;

I’m hyperventilating need to go and lie down..!!

1. He is NOT a respected coach....yet.
2. He has very very little management experience.

3. Being a 'top top' player means absolutely nothing. The best players very rarely make the best managers.
That said, I want him to be a success as much as anyone. But then there is the risk he might be a massive success and Arteta gets the boot. I think we all know what will happen then dont we!

He has been coaching for approaching ten years now and has already managed with moderate success at New York and Nice. He is not a total novice I don’t know why people keep repeating this mantra.

Beers not being right at Selhurst sums up Palace. They have little organisational ability to deliver simple things properly. They are far too tight. The same for the new website which still struggles and this website too is very slow. The customer experience at Palace is poor and little is done to change it. Same with the squad management and players deal , tactics transfer policies and team performance.
But now Vieira has arrived and is already making some very interesting noises. This guy was a top global star winning the World Cup with France. Maybe he is th messiah to show a New way forwards. A simpler easier way both on and off the pitchfork.
So good luck Pat. Show us the way. Inspire the club both on and off the pitch. It’s long overdue. Give the ball a big kick and I think we may all be very happily surprised Bon chance mon brave.

On a general point, had the club appointed Lampard,Dyche,Favre,Nuno, HOL would be awash with excitement and there would have been a real sense of optimism.I don't sense these emotions at the present time.

Do you actually read what others post on HOL or are you confusing us with "the few supporters who you have spoken to outside of this forum who you claim are underwhelmed at the appointment of Vieira."

For your information HOL (which you may have forgotten are ALL Palace fans) were decidedly underwhelmed at the prospect of hiring Lampard or Dyche and also had reservations about Nuno and Favre

Agreed. Favre would have been my first choice but
. . .
There seems to be more positivity than I would have expected especially with what seems to be a lack of money. Pat seems a good choice and I believe will be a success for us.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Read the thread titled “A LITTLE INFORMATION “ this might help if you trust the source.

I know it was only an interview , but I was impressed by the first one that Vieira gave to Palace TV.
He appears clear sighted and I noted a few things; his commitment to the team scoring goals , having more shots on goal and using more young players.
These are things many of us have been crying out for in recent times.
It would not be a good idea to go into the new season with just the injury prone Tomkins, Kouyate and Kelly as central defender options so clearly this area needs addressing quickly.
We must have a solid defensive platform to work from first to give us the scope to address the areas that Vieira hignlighted.

When David Villa says he is one of the best coaches he has worked with, suggests he is well respected,
