Indeed. They were different class in front of goal. I actually thought we played well for large periods of the first half but the final ball or the wrong choice taken when in great positions. So Villa beat Liverpool 7-2. Liverpool put 7 past us. We may as well go beat Villa, which would sum up the premier league this season It's an ouroboros. That's 2020 for you.

Easy to say afterwards but today showed why we need different tactics against different sides. By all means play attacking football but today we needed 3 defensive midfielders, either Tomkins or Sakho alongside Cahill. PVA may have been better if we had defended better with that setup but on today’s performance Mitchell should be playing. It looks suspect in midfield with 3 forward players - today being Zaha, Eze and Ayew. They were pretty awful going forward as well, so why didn’t Hodgson with Benteke out use today to be more defensive? All in hindsight but surely if fans can see these problems then the manager should also?

Freak result. Definitely. Our play didn't deserve their forth goal, the less said after that the better.

COYP ..and there you have it, because I do think nothing is wrong. Liverpool are who they are and the same applies to us, something not just you but quite a lot of fans fail to understand, we are slowly progressing and Liverpool are at the very very top looking down at everyone and today they showed us why.

I remember walking back to coach 2 after that Anfield game. As we walked through the car park singing; "9-0, the scousers beat us 9-0" there was this cop on a horse "escorting" our little group, who was both confused and a little pissed off that we were singing rather than bitching and crying about it. Why weren't we smashing s*** up, not even giving the cops any s***? He didn't get it, even tried winding us up... We just kept on laughing and singing. Why? We just got a masterclass in attacking football from one of the great sides of the time. Palace where not in the same class as Liverpool on the day, but we still fought back, we came close on more than one occasion. The Liverpool we faced today are the Champions of Europe and the Premier League, their manager has just won the World Manager award, some of their goals and play was the form that you can expect from a team in their position. We had chances, we came close a few times. We needed a finisher, we needed a better referee in the last game, a less hectic schedule, Etc. Did heads go down? Did frustrations show? Did mistakes happen? Yes to all of these in both games, but I can't say that it felt the same this time. Expectations have shifted, but more than that the ability to take one on the chin seems to have become rare among some of our supporters. I don't know what would have happened if social media existed back in 1989, hopefully we had a lower melt population than now. I've seen twitter posts digging at PVA for getting Salah's shirt and for Roy shaking hands and grinning at Klopp! WTF!? Is it because they would be ungracious in defeat, that they expect everyone else to spit the dummy?
PTID.

I was there too, the difference this time is we have an expectation good or bad right or wrong, we are a premier league club with premier league wages back then we we not, we were learning and we did we made changes not excuses, we are palace always up and down but we have always had fight and passion, I don't mind getting beat but beat up is something else.

It was a poor second-half performance, but even the commentators agreed at half-time that the players would be scratching their heads as to how it was 0-3. To take this game in isolation fine, but in the context of recent results it was unexpected. Did you also think we were poor against WBA, Spurs and West Ham? Fair enough if you did, but I don't think you'll find many agreeing with you. Like I said, you don't sack a manager after one game; especially one who has delivered one of the best starts to a PL season for his cub. Sadly with some fans I think we're wasting our time, but they are Palace fans so we must try and help them come to their senses.
