The fact is our players were of a lower quality. Quite a bit. I was impressed by Richarlison. Better than I expected. His goal was very good and the type of attacking runner I would love to see at Palace.
We were second to the ball and the passing was poor. It wasn’t good Roy. It was poor.

Following Palace since 25 Feb 1978

I would agree with a Roy in general we did play well and from what I saw for a great deal of the game we were the team trying to win the game. Luck as well as quality plays a part in the winning and losing of a game. We had no luck having hit the post twice and a header hitting the goalkeeper. They had a moment of quality through Richarlison and scored. Our issue today was lack of luck and some poor passing which held us back. In general I agree with Roy but am not surprised we have lost to loads of signings Everton. COYP

Spot on in my view. They took their chances and we didn’t. Benteke scores that header and we are level and maybe heading for a win. The game was a lot more even than people are saying. We were well on top and pushing for a goal when they hit us with a long ball sucker punch,

You said the same for the last couple of games - if this, if that - didn't happen. 3 losses to teams we thought we were able to compete with. Check the facts, 3 games 3 losses, six against, 1 for. That is the bottom line.

If we got battered today like we did against Southampton then I’d say it. Very fine margins today and against Sheffield Utd.

We do already have one. He's just completely stifled by our tactics and the likes of PVA being unable to pass it 10 feet to him.

You lot moaning in particular about the passing have a look at the Stats,Evertons accurate pass rate was actually worse than ours.
I was at Goodison, we actually played well for periods, when the score was 1-1, we looked the team most likely to win it then Richarlison scored, end of story. Not such a bad performance as you doom merchants make out. Must admit the substitutions were strange and did not help our cause.I think Riedawald and Townsend would have been better options.

For 6 minutes then. Yes we really rattled Everton after we equalised, but barely threatened them throughout the first half and they took us apart in the second. Six minutes when an Everton team who have had a reputation for shooting themselves in the foot for a couple of seasons were shaky does not equal a good overall performance.

Margins mean nothing in football. You either win lose or draw. It is irrelevant if you play fantastically and lose or play crap and lose. I thought we played good for 20 mins today, the rest was rubbish and we got exactly what we deserved out of the match, feck all.

That’s where you’re very wrong. We were on the wrong side of the margin today and last week. We were not battered from pillar to post like a lot of you are making out. We could have easily drawn both games and there would be no complaints from us or the opposition but we lost and that’s football.

Yes, Our results are very worrying and our general play is very boring and 1 dimensional but it is no where near as bad as a lot of people on here are making out.

I didn’t say we were battered. We were outplayed for 60 of the 90 minutes and we lost. Fine margins are irrelevant. Last week we never looked like scoring, this week we did for about 20 minutes, but that ain’t going to cut the mustard at this level.
