And then I have to look at that Gary Lineker.....whose's made himself overtly political over at Twitter.....And I'm being made to contribute towards his wages.

At least if he presented an ITV footy highlights show you could boycott everything advertised on telly.

I normally go to the bbc for the weather.

I preferred it when the weathermen used to have to stick the clouds on the map behind them.

On a separate note, if any of you ever go to Mexico check out their TV weather girls. Mouthwatering! It's basically p*** but with clothes on.

I bought a Radio Times while I was in Tescos the other day....much more in hope than anything else.

Independent content makers operating on the Internet may not have anything like the budget of the TV companies and are just talking heads but their content is free from the shackles and falseness of 'approved' TV....TV is anodyne and corporate.

There is still value in some radio output though.

anodyne

adjective
1. not likely to cause offence or disagreement and somewhat dull.

But it seems to offend a lot of people here. Are they offended by its inoffensiveness?

Telly is a powerful medium. In a world where people call 999 when KFC runs out of chicken is it any wonder that propaganda is doing such a great job at distorting reality?

I feel a bit safer with anodyne news.

Its political neo liberal, pro feminist agenda is offensive to me certainly....but I was referring more to entertainment value.

When it comes to media and news we are certainly living in changing times.

I don't see the traditional companies in the UK still being here in another twenty years.....maybe even less.

When I first worked for ITV it had a virtual monopoly. Things have changed already but I agree it will continue to change very fast.

Things always do.

I've aged fairly well. I still look pretty much like beaker off the muppets..
