However, we've not kept a clean sheet in 10 games. Also, note this article which explains just how much of our 'good defending' was down to Guaita. [Link]

His discipline has slipped this season and he seems to be getting wound up more easily. One more booking takes him to 10 booking for the season which will result in another two match ban. That would make it 6 games suspended for the season and in fairness there were a couple of games where he was probably lucky that yellow cards didn't become red. He hasn't been giving the ball away as much as he was earlier in the season, but he seems a long way off the player who Sam signed in my opinion. The difference to last season is we're not winning penalties or even free-kicks around the area and so there is perhaps more focus on the rest of his game.

If Luka is fit for the next game should he come straight back in the side for Brighton. This would also depend on how bad the injury is that Kouyate picked up. If he is okay I would play the same starting 11 as yesterday with maybe Tosun in for Benteke.

I agree bout same starting 11, i disagree bout bringing Luka straight back in if Kouyate' injury keeps him out. We still have Meyer(i know) Jairo, Townsend, shlupp(?), Luka is 1(one) booking away from a min 2 match ban, do we need to take a chance? PvA's set pieces & corners were far superior to Luka's, as was Jmac2's something we've been sadly lacking in for ages. Our need to win against the 'seaweed' is paramount in any/every Palace's fans mindset. Luka should not be involed . . IMHO
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

He likes to pick the same old faces every game irrespective of who the opposition is and who's in form so I'd be surprised if Luka didn't get his place back as soon as he is fit.

Would prefer Luka on the bench giving Roy extra options. If played from the start he is likely to be a target - one more booking misses two matches; if they can wind him up we could be down to ten men. Chances are that he will miss two matches before the end of the season anyway - hope Roy is looking at the fixtures list. COYP
