As complete team performances go, that's the best I've seen in a number of years. Every player was ' at it '.

The headlines will go to Wilf, Gallagher and of course Edouard, but I thought Tyrick Mitchell had the best game I've seen him play in a Palace shirt.

The squad is still Work In Progress, but we have a lot to be positive about.

Yes, and Tyrick began the move that led to our pen when he beat Dele Ali in a sensational challenge for the ball. Tyrick was on the deck for a moment when tussling with DA, but still came away with the ball and moved it upfield. His courage and strength led directly to our first goal.

The right place at the right time

Yep I thought the same. It was great to see Mitchell have a really positive game and clear signs he's adapting his game and confidence.

Incredible introduction from Edouard, getting off the mark in such fashion is massive for a striker.

Also so nice to give Olise a cameo with no pressure on his shoulders and in the brief time he was on he showed some nice touches and composure.

A final mention to our new CB partnership... they look classy and didn't give Kane a sniff.

Tottenham were awful but it was still a great performance with some real positive signs for the future.

I've just watched our bit on MOTD thanks to iPlayer. So glad Jonathan Pearce was the commentator, he added a certain je ne sais quoi to our match, not that we really needed any extra yesterday.

I agree with NEILLO too, about Mitchell, he put in a very solid performance. Gets better with every match. Just goes to show - give the youngsters a chance and they will flourish.

Patrick Vieira is proving himself to be a highly competent tactition and motivator already. I did say it earlier in this thread, but how different he has us playing from last season. And a clever substitution. I thought he'd left it too late like Roy. How wrong was I? I hope not to see any more comparisons on here with FdB. Absolutely no contest.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

People are raving over Ronaldo for playing the whole 90 minutes and scoring 2 on his return to ManUre. Edouard does the last 10 minutes and scored 2...speaks volumes

What you on about! Mr Hodgson's job was to keep us away from relegation and that's what he did with brass knobs on, he was never intended to do anything else why can't you understand this?

You have absolutely no idea what Hodgson's actual remit was. That is just pure opinion and speculation on your part! I see this mentioned from time to time but the truth is we don’t know what the actual directive to Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington was from Steve Parish and his fellow directors.

I’m pretty sure however it wasn’t to subject us to the absolute dire excuse for football we’ve had to endure for the last few seasons, culminating in seven defeats in a row and one point out of a possible twenty four to finish off the 2019/20 season, followed by the worst season of football to watch as a Palace fan for as long as I can remember.

I’m grateful for what Roy achieved in avoiding relegation in his first season but this nonsense that Hodgson is the only person who could possibly keep us up has to stop. Thankfully Roy has moved on and we are now witnessing games like yesterday and playing a style of football and attracting players that we simply wouldn’t have seen under Roy.

Well said, and let that be the final word on the subject.
I was concerned that PV might take a while to get his ideas across, but the performances so far, and the way transfer business has been conducted has been impressive, to say the least. Looking positive

The fact that Harris and Blitzer put their share up for sale two years ago and there was a net profit on transfers over four years tells it all.

Why not enjoy the moment without slagging off the previous manager.

Did he run the youth team

if you fancy a laugh at Spurs, take a look at the fansite ' the fighting cock' match thread.
starts off with 4 straight wins blah blah & finishes with Nuno out, worse than jose etc.

Yes, I spent an hour this morning reading a selection of their comments. There's the occasional bit of realism, even some bits of favourable comment about us, e.g., "Palace dominated from start to finish", "awesome home support", "deserved to beat West Ham". But 90%+ consists of a stream of foul-mouthed abuse of the ref, their manager, Zaha, Ayew, most of their players (especially Kane and Davies), and so on. What makes me smile reading the match threads of the bigger teams when we've beaten them is their fans' sense of entitlement, as demonstrated by the repeated use of the f word, either in front of the words Crystal Palace or between those two words. They just can't bear it; really cheers me up!

I like the fact that their solution is to simply buy Edouard and Gallagher.
