The 7 game run last season was the warning sign and the summer additions weren’t enough. One plays, one on the bench and one injured. Couple that with a Manager who refuses to rotate and we are in danger. We were being massacred out wide today, both Ward and PVA caught out further up consistently. We need pace at the back and in the covering positions. I think we are in real trouble.

PVA was caught upfield when they broke upfield for the secondHe should have been busting a gut to get back but just jogged aimlessly up the middle. With that attitude, a makeshift centre back and 2 ageing defenders we were there for the taking. We need to bring back Mitchell for PVA, push Kouyate back into midfield and pray that Cahill recovers quickly and stays injury free for the rest of the season. Who else do we have? How about Benteke at centre half! At least he can head the ball.

I have now tipped to the WTF is Roy doing with starting line up side of the fence. If Tomkins is fit how can he not start as CB. Ward selected over Clyne???

We looked like a disorganised team of disinterested has-beens and never-weres. It's going to be a long winter of discontent if this dross with no plan B keeps being served up.

What is frustrating is the team that played Leeds was fast, interested, basically up for it. More or less same players can produce almost opposite performances. Ferguson, what the actual fock is going on there. I didn't think I would be giving any thought to BHA results after our first ten games or so. Now I am looking at those near us as I think it's out of our own hands for rest of season if we perform like that Edited by HKOwen (27 Dec 2020 10.08am)

When given the time and space ( Leeds, West Brom - and to a slightly lesser extent, Fulham ), we have players that can take advantage. When that time and space isn't there, we have problems.

In relation to the Traore effort that hit the post, the player was able to get through the middle of TWO of our players with such ease and then Milivojevic made a half-hearted effort to challenge before Traore unleashed his shot.A similar Milivojevic token effort in about the same position on the pitch when Salah cut in and scored Liverpool's 7th goal.

I thought yesterday's defeat was more painful than the Liverpool result. Villa themselves could have had 7 had their finishing been better. We looked like a veterans team playing a bunch of eager youngsters. All the short termism that permeates the club could come home to roost this season. The back 4 are short of pace. PVA goes AWOL but there isn't anyone covering for him anymore. The central midfield yesterday consisted of a yellow card per game liability and a 33 year old who never hides but just can't influence games anymore. Eze has been a major disappointment over the last 3 games - he's flavour of the month with the pundits, but he's looked out of his depth recently. It's sad when you see a players ' legs go '. Back in the day I watched Micky Droy go very suddenly and more recently and more gradually, Jason Puncheon. I looked at yesterdays team thinking Luka, McArthur, Dann are at various stages of the process. 3 out of 10 outfield players. The way Leicester play, it's hard to see anything other than another defeat, potentially another heavy one. Hodgson needs to shuffle the pack although currently that resembles rearranging the lifeboats on the Titanic. We need to get points on the board, so I think Roy will consider reverting back to more trusted ways and try to make us harder to play against. Mr. Parish needs to find some money in this window - but of course, we all know how that usually turns out.

Best thing would be to make that call. There are now too many old men letting down the team (including the manager).
