BFS has done an excellent job interview today.
We would be so much better if we had Sam still but clearly he wasn't going to put up with SP BS and proved it's not Americans fault. I don't think the players are buying into Roy anymore and look like they have lost interest in this dull football.

Could hear Ray Lewington screaming at the players to get forward and put pressure on them and still we kept playing it around at the back or in PVA's case, passing to the opposition! McManaman called it right today. It was much better when we hit the ball long and picked up the scraps.

What is the betting that Roy starts with the same team and tactics in the next game. It’s so depressing.

I have stopped listening to Roys after match interviews as they are as predictable as his tactics , I do blame Roy for not standing his ground on transfers for the past 2 transfer deadlines and a younger manager may well have decided enough is enough and walked like previous managers . Parish obviously has been involved with lack of new players hoping he can get by without any outlay, well my friends his biggest gamble is coming of the rails and Championship football is on the horizon unless something dramatic happens and I am sad to say we are destined to get relegated.

Well, I saw moments where Everton were all over the shop and we had them utterly and completely under the cosh and it was our passing again which destroyed any hope we had of building any momentum and I just cannot understand how Mr Hodgson is to blame for that! Moments is the right word. Utterly and completely? Not from where I was sitting. 2 shots on target says it all. Zaha should have done better on at least 2 occasions though so you have a partial point. . As for our woeful passing, which players do you think would do a better job on that front? I’d say Jairo is one - have we managed a point since he was dropped? I’m not the only one who thinks our midfield 3 isn't balanced. If we are going to play it out from the back then Meyer or Jairo (surely he’s worth a go there) has to be in the middle as they have better skills in that regard. Personally I’d rather us play more direct and to Benteke’s strength. . But really Ayew should have been in the middle not on the wing as he’s our best threat right now.

The boys worked very hard, pleased with their effort, scored an equaliser, thought that was a fair result, unlucky to concede and lose the game. This is the post match view of the manager we are very lucky to have.

I would agree with a Roy in general we did play well and from what I saw for a great deal of the game we were the team trying to win the game. Luck as well as quality plays a part in the winning and losing of a game. We had no luck having hit the post twice and a header hitting the goalkeeper. They had a moment of quality through Richarlison and scored. Our issue today was lack of luck and some poor passing which held us back. In general I agree with Roy but am not surprised we have lost to loads of signings Everton. COYP

Not sure what McCarthy gives us ahead of Kouyate if Hodgson insists on 3 solid midfielders.

Luka was woeful again today with his long passing, but his positioning in front of the back four should keep him in the side. I have no doubts that Kouyate should be starting in that midfield. Hopefully Townsend will get on the field soon as Wilf on his own needs pressure off him? Wilf was at fault with the first goal giving the ball away and Ward on the second by not challenging on the half way line hard enough. Even giving away a foul would have helped us. Mistakes like those as well as not being able to deliver a final ball is dropping us down the table. Not sure where the next points are coming from :-(

Allardyce said he was more concerned by our poor defensive play today than our attacking intent and now we look like we've lost Tomkins for a bit who has probably been our best player over recent games. As I've said a few times now the club's / Roy's perseverance with Benteke is my biggest gripe and IMO is one of the things most likely to cost us. He was jank again today and it was no coincidence we went on a run when he was dropped after the game against Sheffield Utd earlier in the season. Ayew is a good CF, strong with good feet but no winger. I agree Kouyate brings legs and height to the midfield and should be in ahead of McCarthy. Failing to get another orthodox wide player during the window was very complacent bordering negligent.
