This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Problem is, once a player wants to leave you have to sell. Van Dyke, Mahrez, Sanchez...it disrupts the group, brings unnecessary media attention and pressures. Whatever the decision, it needs to be soon. We either need to spend the money on replacements or wilf sign a new contact. We can’t have this go on and on until the final day of the window.

What is Wilf actually worth? Ignore all the reports of £70m. Van Dijk refused to play for Southampton at one point and they still held out for £75m!!! Was that too much? Is he better than Wilf? Is Wilf worth more than Van Dijk? I think, IMO, Wilf is worth more than Van Dijk. If there is a real possibility of Wilf moving on, I hope the club hold out for a huge amount of money. Personally I would keep Wilf and let him walk for nothing at the end of his contract...we'd make more money staying in the Prem over the next 4 years than we would selling him now. Truth is...I don't think he's going anywhere. Edited by Hudsoneagle (10 Jul 2018 3.45pm) if Riyad Mahrez is worth 60 mill plus, wilf is worth much more than 70 mill Mahres was non existent both games last season . he aint going nowwhere COYP .
oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Mahrez is only 19 months older than Wilf, he is. Premier League winner, a PFA and Football Writers player of the year. Difficult arguement to say he is not worth more than Wilf. I don’t think he has been playing well because he wanted to leave. It will be the same with Wilf if he wants to leave.

Borrussia Dortmund not a Big Club? The Everton part I'd agree with. but in terms of support & Infrastructure etc Dortmund knock Palace into a cocked hat I am not comparing Dortmund to Palace. I am making the point that Zaha might prefer Bayern Munich if it comes to Germany. He deserves to go to a bigger club than Dortmund. No disrespect meant but they are not in the elite tier.

ALL of their Squad would walk in to the Palace side

I'm not sure that anyone has said that Wilf wants to leave? I thought this was about offering better terms on an existing long term contract. Whilst he is earning £100000 or whatever a week I'm sure he's in no rush to extend any contract until he sees what the ultimate offer might be.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Everyone is assuming that it's about money, maybe there was something like a clause banning him from going to AFCON or something in the middle of our season, which would mess up his Ivory Coast position.

Or a release clause that isn't acceptable. Either are more likely than a row about money per se (in my humble opinion of course).

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle He won’t be going to Dortmund. We’re talking about a lad who has said that he gets homesick when he is away a few days on international duty. And was homesick and depressed living in Manchester. Think about it. ALL of their Squad would walk in to the Palace side As I just said and you quoted, I am not comparing Palace to Dortmund. So who cares about Dortmund players walking into the Palace starting 11? Dortmund are better than Palace, that is pretty obvious. The point I am making is Wilfried Zaha has the world at his feet, and already had a failed moved to a club MUCH bigger then Borussia Dortmund, in Man Utd. I would think he would want to test himself in a better league than the Bundesliga. IF by some miracle he wants to up sticks, uproot his family, and move to another country, A - I doubt its Germany, and B - I think he would prefer Bayern so he has a shot at winning the Bundesliga or Champions League. Zaha is not going to sign for Borussia Dortmund, you can quote me on that one.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If Wilf had total belief in himself and he had a massive ambition he would not have opted for Ivory Coast. Chances are he would have set the World Cup on fire and be close to playing in the final.for England.
