I note that Jackie Walker has had her suspension from the Labour party rescinded after investigation. Is it in the press? Of course not. I still maintain that the Macarthyist anti semite witch hunt was an election ploy. Have we heard of any since? If not, then it would appear that labour has got its house in order on this matter.

Chakrabarti is in charge of the investigation. Anyone would think that employing a lawyer in that capacity would be for the purpose of clearing them all... You seem quite keen on defending Labour and you're after a new job. Maybe volunteer to help her out. Edited by johnfirewall (28 May 2016 11.23am)

An investigation is underway. Your continuing denial is funny.

Was it an election ploy? Beyond doubt.Classic stuff. Was there something underneath to worry about notwithstanding that? Beyond doubt. Is there some dodgy equivalent stuf to worry about equally on the right too? Sure Is the house now in order? Far too early to tell Can there be a danger in ignoring or brushing aside negatives about those one is in general political agreement with (as those on the right frequently do here IMO)? . Don't fall into the trap. Chomsky? Wrote some interesting stuff... One of greatest thinkers of past 100 years?Maybe,in the same way Gary Borrowdale was one of greatest full backs never to have played for England!

It was much easier when all that it took to remove an awkward left wing politician from influence, was a firing squad, and a reprint of history.

Interesting that you dismiss Chomsky (regularly cited as one of the great thinkers of the last 100 years) but fawn over Guido. Its also noteworthy, that Chomsky, whilst often portrayed as being very left wing, as actually opposed to authoritarianism primarily, and frames his criticism of capitalism, not on the idea of capitalism, but the fact that around 80% of the population are divorced from involvement in economic decisions, and that within the US, the Democratic and Republican party, simply represent business interests. I always regarded him more of a slightly left of centre anti-authoritarian.
