You're sounding like John 'British jobs for British workers' Prescott.
I'd be willing to actually implement the necessary requirements to help British working classes.....Actually get back to where they were before 'freedom of movement' disadvantaged some of them.
Perhaps being shafted by governments and companies with wages kept lower than they might have been? As a random example,in the Thatcher years (pre EU expansion of freedom of movement)according to the Institute of Fiscal Studies poverty went up from 13.4% of the population living below 60% of median incomes before housing costs 1979 to 22.2%, or 12.2m people in 1990. Take income inequality another random example, one study suggested the share of all income received by the top 1% of the population rose from about 6% in 1979 to about 16% in 2005 (pre EU freedom of movement expansion). So,not so sure this "shafting" began in the mid 2000's and there was an idyllic era before due to the absence of so many migrants. Also,if you are going to take steps to help the "British" working class, when does a "migrant" worker become "British".On taking nationality? Or something different?

Nick your views upon immigration......Your insistence that the British working class should be treated equally with incoming immigrants in regards to housing and jobs.....Well, it's exactly why Labour have lost the argument. It's why the working class effectively dumped Labour. The only people voting in large numbers are those with stuff to lose....They will always vote the Tories in. Labour look like they are going to vote in their version of a good old fashioned 'Trotsky'. Except this one is pro EU. Labour are essentially entering another inward looking phrase where they can speak to each other about how good egalitarianism is and how.....All they need to do is communicate it's ideas better to the masses and then they would understand how it's how they should live. It's like no one ever really grew up. But I'll enjoy the show regardless......Except I know that yet again another generation of British youth will have been sold down the path.

I'm not a supporter of the kind of crazy wealth distribution we have had since the seventies. However, allowing unfetted EU immigrants to complete with British workers for job positions not only affects their chances at jobs......Especially in selected professions but massively worsens their chances of being housed. It's like loony tunes time.....This country is building roughly half the number of houses it needs to every year......yet you and many on the left say....keep the 'freedom of movement' laws! Still, you're a modern leftie legal.....So you don't really give a damn about the working classes......Instead of saying 'restrict the numbers coming in'......You'd rather say 'build more houses'. A reality that's far less likely to happen and one that's partly out of government's hands anyway. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Aug 2015 9.20pm)

I actually did well out of being 'Upper working class' as did millions of others I hasten to add. If those at the bottom of the heap cant be bothered to get off their sorry asses then f*** them. You have to help yourself in this world grab it with both hands no one else is going to help you do that.

Shouldn't all people who are legally here regardless of being British or not be afforded the same rights? are are you suggesting that some form of apartheid should be put in place? As for the allowing the unlimited numbers in remark, I don't think I've ever said that. What I do know is there is a humanitarian crisis going on and many on here do not seem to give a s***.

Meanwhile all British expats are repatriated...
I don't know if you had noticed Nick.....But we have plenty of non EU migrants here.......Are you getting a sense of your own over exaggeration yet? As for British expats.....Excepting those directly related, those intending to come back or those who moved for medical conditions.......Why should I or anyone else give a monkeys about people who dumped this country and who pay into another country's tax system. Like Eagle said....He'll never contribute to your pension. As far as I'm concerned, they made their bed. .................................................... I'm wondering then Stirling if you'd make it a priority then to revoke that part of the immigration rules that gives automatic right to enter and live here to anyone who is a Commonwealth citizen who had a parent who was a British citizen born here. The actual "migrant" doesn't need to have ever had any connection with the UK. Could be the child of someone who,for example, emigrated to Australia 60 years ago. Only thing is, I think many of the people (could be wrong) are from the old Commonwealth.Funny, but for some reason, you seem to hear people (say Farage as an example) bang on about "migrants" but only the ones of a different colour of ethnicity and not mention this group.Could there be any reason for that? If you genuinely want to help the "British" working class, wouldn't that be your starting point, eliminating a fast track for people significantly benefiting those of only one race/ethnicity and where there's no tie in of free movement of goods and services benefiting the UK, and promoting an immigration policy (given on any analysis even if current non EU rules were applied to EU nationals as you wish, immigration numbers might be reduced but likely 200,000 per annum)) not based on any seeming discrimination of grounds of race or ethnicity? If you are paying into the British state then you should be afforded some level of equality.....But I do believe that the British state should always look to protect and provide for its own first.
