Edited by Stirlingsays (30 May 2019 11.42pm) Are you revelling in the loss of fellow HOLers who just saw things differently from you? I regret the loss of (almost) all of our old friends and adversaries I thought the issue was obstruction of the investigation.

I thought the issue was obstruction of the investigation. As for the whole concept of what is and isn't obstruction on the evidence presented is iffy as Barr stated. To this we add to the reality that no actual acts of obstruction were carried out.....Trump could have made sure they were if he had really wanted to obstruct. A giant nothing burger. Like I said at the start, Trump is going nowhere over this and the Democrats will have to beat him in 2020 in the same fashion that all presidents should lose....by democracy, not machinations by elites.

Edited by Stirlingsays (30 May 2019 11.42pm) The only reason I won't be here is if I am dead or incapacitated. You can rely upon it! I think it much more likely that the thread will have been deleted in embarrassment by it's moderator. Russian collusion was never an issue because collusion itself is not a crime. The term is simply media shorthand. That the Trump team will be indicted with crimes rising from their involvement with Russian efforts to disrupt the election in favour of Trump via Wikileaks is a shoe in, once Assange is extradited. You can bet on it. When isn't clear, but not if. Whether Trump himself can be tied in is also unclear but there are many ways of skinning that particular cat and I don't actually care which one is used, so long as he sees justice. No falsehoods involved at all. Read the Mueller report and listen to his summary of it. The information is all there for those with minds open enough to recognise it it.

I just don't like to see the most powerful country in the world being so stupid as to elect a criminal as it's President just because he appealed to their basest instincts on prime time TV. I want to see the many responsible and decent people in the USA come together to rid themselves of this parasite. Maybe Trump actually believes in himself and his innocence. He is narcissistic enough to do so. Maybe he is an unaware puppet being manipulated by those with a variety of agendas. Time will tell.

Justin Amash at a recent town hall: "If you have a society where all we care about is that the other side is bad, and therefore we dont have to do the right thing, that society will break down. You will have no liberty. For those of you who care about liberty, who care about the constitution, I assure you the surest way to make our constitution a dead letter is to have a society where we all hate each other, and we dont care about what the other side are doing, right or wrong, we are just going to hate them and disagree with them. That is the surest way to destroy our constitution, and I refuse to be part of that. I will always stand up for our liberty and our constitution."
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Lucky no one hates Trump then or they’d be part of the problem.

Mmmm...Well.....we can pretty accurately say that both the first and second amendments aren't safe in Democratic hands. I mean, I agree with first amendment free speech, single payer healthcare and a society where civilians don't have easy access to guns. But that's easy for me because the society I was raised in came already pre-packaged with them. Changing any or all of them would send catastrophic shock waves throughout the US and I don't think they should be done without strong public support....meaning states themselves get a say. However, I don't know that I trust the Democrats to feel the same way.

Trump is at it again, he is incorrigible. He is going to introduce tariffs on all goods crossing the Mexico border unless illegal immigration or drug smuggling is stopped. New tag line: "Trump - bringing childlike simplistic solutions to complex problems since 1976" Being a Trump advisor has got to be the most frustrating job in the world. He seems hell bent on trashing the good vibes yanks have about the economy and wants to make blue collar American's pay more money for both Chinese AND Mexican imports. I think he is seriously becoming unhinged as this makes no sense and will do nothing for him except with his base, who are going to follow him off a cliff even if he did gun someone down on 5th ave. The idea that the Mexican government can immediately end all migration AND the drug trade is something only a 5 year old would think can be actually achieved. Also what happened to Trump's f&cking wall which Mexico was gonna pay for?! That big wall should stop all these things anyway shouldn't it, so why hasnt he built his shiny wall?

Democrats dont support the first amendment? First I heard of it. Re guns, stronger gun controls are supported by the majority of people. Only the NRA, with their immense lobbying power over the GOP, keep the children of America at risk of murder by assault weapon in their schools. This is the problem with Trump, as I have said many, many times. He has opened Pandora's box and you cannot put the toothpaste back in the tube now. If the next democratic president wants to declare a national emergency after the next mass shooting of poor innocents, then no one has a leg to stand on challenging that as Trump has redefined national emergencies. The next democratic president will press his or her agenda FAR more vociferously than they would have before Trump ran roughshod over every norm and standard of the office of president. Democratic president obstructing justice? Dems now have 1000s of hours of soundbites from republicans not caring at all, and an attorney general who said it was ok because the president felt "under attack". Dem president declaring national emergency? Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Dem president storming out of meetings and refusing to work with republicans? Seen that before. Dem president cheating on his wife with a p*** star, offering hush money payments, breaking campaign finance laws. Been there and got the T-Shirt. Its a brave new world which Trump and his cronies are ushering in. Hope the right wing enjoy it when the next left wing president gets into power and starts dismantling it all, changing laws, circumventing congress and the like.

Because the Democrats have tried to block him at every stage it's a bit rich complaining that Trump hasn't built it. Trump has a point, Mexico is not doing enough to halt illegal immigration and the flow of guns and drugs. This has gone on for many decades the US has the right to defend it's borders and to expect it's neighbours to likewise. Imposing tariffs may not be the best solution but talking hasn't achieved much and I don't mean Trump insulting them look at the previous administrations. I don't think Trump expects Mexico to solve it tomorrow but he is expecting them to show willing.
