I am so so excited at the moment. The dream Brexit really could be happening. Free trade ports, corporation tax lower than even Irelands, 100% control of our fishing waters, all kinds of enterprise initiatives, a wonderful new start.

This is what it was ALWAYS about. I still don't trust Johnson not to betray us but fingers crossed. Because this could be happening...absolutely smashing news.

By June we will be feasting on fresh British fish, great lamb and steaks from South America along with inward investment flowing.

Finally a chance to reestablish ourselves as a truly global trading nation. Let the EU do what it needs to do and good luck to it in dealing with Poland and Hungary, both nations whom I hope we offer all kinds of direct support to in their own struggles with Brussels.

Are you a wind up? Whats wrong with English lamb and steak? Are you going to seriously eat Argentinian stuff over our own grub?

I want choices. I want the best from all around the world. We import huge amounts of beef from the EU as things stand. They will change once we can open up our borders to other nations. Ditto with all kinds of other agricultural produce.

And yes, English lamb and steak should be pushed and pushed. No issues around that. But we can get the best of what the world has to offer as well.

Indeed Kev, matov scored an own goal in that post , favouring South American meat above great british stuff? He clearly isn"t as patriotic as he was trying to portray!

Oddly enough I don't really consider myself to be that 'patriotic' in terms of all the flag-waving jingoism stuff. And have zero issues around enjoying all kinds of foreign goods. But for me that is the point of being English. We are a trading nation. Led the way in importing all kinds of different foods, hence why we can happily enjoy an April 23rd celebration of German lager followed by an Indian curry.

Simply put I want choice on our supermarket shevels. And South American steaks are fantastic. World famous. Ditto with New Zealand lamb. Of course England produces top quality produce as well but Brexit is not about us closing down our markets but rather opening them up for a wider choice.

Have you had south american beef then?
I thought leaving was to give us a choice. It's not up to me to support a supplier out of patriotism.
I would fight for the country on the beaches but until that is needed I will eat whatever and from wherever I choose. Re my second line.

That Macron really is a c*** aint he. Saying he won't bow to royal navy and give up french fishing rights. By law he has to also despite being large French navy is dreadfully outdated not a lot they would really be able to do except blockade their own ports which would drive the French mad.
