As much as I want to scream at the players or ‘Roy out’ I can’t help but feel a lack of investment is essentially what’s biting us in the arse.

A group of ageing and tired players today were shown that a young and hungry outfit with a young and hungry manager can still beat us easily with ten men.

We were so totally hopeless today, Villa would probably beat us with nine men.

Compare our squad to Sheffield Utd, Fulham, West Brom, Brighton, Leeds, Burnley, Newcastle.

You might take one or two of there players, but we have the better squad.

Age should be no excuse for lack is desire. Delany, Jedinak, Puncheon, Murray Phillips never showed a lack of hunger to perform.

I don’t disagree with you jeeagles just to be clear.

Someone posted something about questioning the ability of a manager to motivate a team after a 7-0 mauling... I wholeheartedly agree.

I would say there’s a combination of factors at play here, without overstating or underplaying any of them

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Delaney, Jedinak and Puncheon were terrible by the time they left. Good at their peak.

When they left, they were older than many of the players we currently have in the team, much cheaper signings, and could never be accused on not putting in a shift.

It might be down to their own professionalism, but if the manager is slumped in his chair at 3-0 or 7-0 down it's hardly inspiring.

I wouldn’t be bothered if I never saw Luka play again.

As I’ve said many times before Allardyce walked away from this group of players. He and Pardew took us closest to relegation in 16-17 spending £85mil between them for the privilege.

Not sure what else the manager is expected to do when he’s been so badly let down btw

Same thing as Holloway did when he realised he was out of his depth.

You are clearly confused Allardyce didn't put us near relegation at all he stopped us being relegated.

We needed better quality and pace which he managed to get the Americans to back all of those players are still main feature of the current squad.

The manger needs to motivate and try something different it's same old tactics over and over again and not using players to their strengths he just drops bodies in to do the same roles.

He is still play Kouyate at the back what is that about we have proper people that can play their and Wilf is not a striker plus his effort/attitude stinks he needs a strong hand to put him back in his place.

A lot of our problems in the last match were the two in central midfield. I hope they get plenty of support today as it looks no different to me with this lineup?

This is what I said before kick off. I can’t understand how Hodgson did not see this against Liverpool and acted on it before today? It won’t get better unless he goes now or he reverts back to defensive minded 3 midfielders to protect the back four. We can’t keep playing Zaha and Eze in our starting 11 otherwise we will continue to get stuffed every week. As a previous manager said “it’s not rocket science” It’s never bothered me grinding out results. However I have moaned about not going for cup competitions for some silverware as what’s the use being in the prem all this time with nothing to show for it? We are going down playing this way with this manager. Revert back or bring in someone else to build a side to either keep us up or to bring us back from the championship next season. Personally I think he should go now and we get a caretaker manager in for the next few matches whilst the new guy is found?

What is really going on? 10 goals shipped in two games (and it could easily have been a few more at Villa Park.) And now Vardy & Co on the menu - OMG, anything less than 0-5 would be an improvment.
Roy H. seems like he is paralyzed, our "engine-room" of McArthur, Luka and Schlupp must be the worst in PL. Even Eze seemed like a lost soul.
A new mindset is clearly our option if we hope for survival. Younger, quicker, more hungry players need to be introduced - look at German Dortmund, they throw in 16 and 17 years in Champion League games.
At the moment we are the laughing stock of the league - something a little more drastic than shifting out Clyne for Ward and Benteke for Ayew needs to be done come Monday.

Do they? please don't forget these are the same people who extended contracts for Benteke and Wickham, when they should have let them go and they have consistently not backed Roy in the transfer market leaving us with an aged squad that is injury prone, slow at the back and then there is the so called strikers who cannot score, even against 10 men!. History will not keep us up its the future that matters and right now that lookin a little bleak!

When Allardyce took over in Dec 16 we were fourth from bottom. By beginning of Feb 17 we were second bottom only above Sunderland on goal difference. We lost three of our last four games achieving our lowest points total since being back in the Prem of 41. He then “retired”
