Dont understand why Parish and co dont complain loudly to the FA about this cheating referee!! Edited by the silurian (31 Oct 2020 6.14am) I agree, quickly becoming the new Clattenburg. Could be a decent ref but unfortunately is more interested in his own profile and carrying his own team/player prejudices into games, in my opinion.

Very much with you on this. I saw your posts during the game and was glad to see such levelheadedness amongst chaos. Wolves are a top side who play very good football, mostly because they’ve acquired talent from the Portuguese leagues due to their super agent, their rb was bought from Barca for god sake. We competed but unfortunately did not get the rub of the green with the penalties and offsides. I didn’t expect much from this game and it surprises me that a lot on here did.

The red was a red. Players have a duty of care when tackling. The very fact Luka made the contact he made was a failure in that duty of care. He piled in for a ball he was always second favourite to make and risked serious injury. On the game...I have *almost* begun to enjoy us being behind in matches as it means we try to attack and keep the ball. How sad is that? Our rusty full backs made us consistently vulnerable. With VAR, Clyne would have got the first one ruled out if he'd gone to ground, and was in no-man's land for the second. PvA struggled hugely on the defensive side of his game and both crosses came down his flank. Going forward we lacked two things when trying to claw it back; a striker with clever movement (a young Murray) and a midfielder who could slip a pass to him. Jairo was uncharacteristically sloppy.

No. Wrong. If Luca was a millisecond later in his tackle then the Wolves player would have taken the ball and then Luca’s ankle in exactly the same fashion. As it happens Luca got the ball first and as he followed through he was unfortunate to catch the Wolves players ankle who arrived LATE to the tackle. This is where slowing it down does no favours to the tackler. It was a yellow at worst and in the old days not even a foul. The game has gone soft. This is exactly how I see it. Wasn’t even a foul. Similar to the Sakho red card against Bournemouth last season. Roy’s post match comments agree, and he is the straightest talking manager in the league. The rule is a total nonsense, I cannot understand how a red card can be given if he 100% gets the ball first. Should he pull out of the tackle because he has momentum?

It wasn’t a terrible performance but our tactics didn’t work in the early part of the game when they kept on getting down the sides and scored two goals.

Agree the sending off isn't the worst news ever. Of the players he's likely to choose from, I'd go McCarthy alongside Jairo. Although Jairo wasn't fabulous yesterday.

The game was dead and buried and at least the red card forces Roy to make a change. Luka and Riedewald was a disaster waiting to happen in midfield. We got completely over run. Riedewald and McCarthy are the 2 I would like to see tried.

how was PVA? Rusty defensively with poor positioning. Attacking play was there with a bit of dynamism.

We didn't deserve much from the game - the first half performance saw to that.

Should he pull out of the tackle because he has momentum? Me too. Watching it was clear Luka was first on to the ball, and it was only the ball that he was targeting. He inevitably followed through simply because of momentum. The Wolves player was late into the tackle and got clattered but there was no reckless or dangerous play from Luka.
