Why rolled the ball to Sakho ? We are never good playing the ball up from the back ? You can see earlier in the season the number of near suicide back/side passes we had trying to play the ball from the back.

I think one of the big reasons I don’t get as angry as a lot of fans this season is because I resigned myself to the fact early in the year that I would just be happy to stay in the league, given the current state of our squad. We may all get a shock and the club may actually have a plan for the medium to long term. This season is all but done and hopefully we have an interesting transfer window. I think we all hope that but the likelihood of it happening are close to 0. You need at least £20million to sign a half decent player these days. I’d be surprised if there’s much more than £10-15mil to spend there and we don’t need one new player we need at least 5 I’d say. We can’t even sell any of our squad for any decent money, unless somebody gets absolutely bladdered and offers more than £25mil for Wilf.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Before the Liverpool game we had won four on the trot to go from 30 points to safety at 42 with no goals conceded. Don't suppose in your eyes Roy had anything to do with that.

Correct , the shame is that without the Covid pandemic we would have had since March to plan and prepare for the Transfer window. It is the same for everyone but it would have been nice to see what we really had planned for a normal transfer window after a couple of seasons of stability.

With respect my focus wasn't about the length of contract. Edited by Willo (05 Jul 2020 10.41am) The contract was reward for meeting his objectives, but how sustainable is running the club on a 12 month basis ? As for attracting prospective buyers, if I was one such, I would be asking SP about his plans post Roy in terms of both manager and squad. Eventually Roy will need to be replaced. My point is that if Dyche was considered to be a good fit and he became available now, it would make sense to consider the options.

I am not party to all the goings-on or thinking behind the scenes but my belief is that the club will not pull the rug from under Hodgson's feet so there are no options to consider at present.

The point about four wins on the trot before Liverpool is well made but doesn’t really answer the question about how the substitutions yesterday were designed to get us back into the game yesterday or indeed answer the other valid questions posed about Hodgson’s management on this thread.

Forget '' modern '' football. It's always been about the money, there's just a lot more of it about at the top level of the game these days.

"Modern" football at the top level is all about money whereas in bygone times there were owners who were passionate supporters of their clubs EG Jack Walker,Doug Ellis. Businesses and organisations whereby a football club is just a part of their portfolios and where the owners are rarely to be seen watching their teams.

I don’t agree it’s always been about the money.
