Largely fuelled by the media. They have every right to be angry but unfortunately there are plenty of agitators who will use this for their own means. Whether that is political or criminal. If it does kick off you can almost guarantee it will be everyone but those actually impacted by this awful event.

Hopefully there will be many voices of reason.

And one of those agitators is a senior member of the shadow cabinet.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Looks like 'perfect' timing for a mass riot with the weekend just starting and the weather also 'perfect' to be outside all night long. I'm also sure that many will descend from other areas to kick this off.

You on ya way then?

I think there will (be voices of reason) I don't think the real community there will really deep down want any more harm to come to their already fragile area. They are angry , I think I would be baying for the blood of the people who knew the risks and allowed this . But it makes it all the sadder if they implode in the eye of that shell of a building and what it holds inside.

Will the rescue effort be hampered if we have wet and windy weather does anyone know. Effectively talking in some cases about ashes mixed in the water used to stop the fire.

No rain forecasted for 10 days +.

Nope, been out on my boat for most of today and now the weekend's starting. Will see the news tomorrow if it gets reported here but it hasn't been major news here.

Ok. Guessing it would make little difference as it's wet in there anyway

With reference to the possible riot brewing. Breaking news now lots of protesters have 'stormed' the town hall. Lily allen is in the throng of the angry protesters. Other than her there are a few women in the crowd but the majority are young males.. won't help if the police come in too heavy handed in what is a very ethnically diverse area. Hopefully they settle down and don't go over the edge with this.

I agree that there will be many who use it for their own means but I find it hard to honestly say I'd be able to account for my own actions had members of my family been trapped in a tower block on fire. The problem of course is this could make things a whole lot worse for those in the community and is unlikely to achieve anything positive

Ironically less likely to be a riot if it rains. I am hoping it is all hubris,

As Mstrobez says, if it does kick off it won't achieve anything positive. Particularly as it could divert resources from the recovery mission

Anyone hurting people or damaging property gets no sympathy from me.

I hope everything is being recorded.

Everything is always recorded, often by the people causing the trouble.

The video I have seen from the town hall was so far relatively peaceful and every other person seemed to be recording on a phone. You could quite clearly see press photographers at the front of the scrum.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
