The bloke has been awful for ages and if he hadn't been seemingly undroppable as captain, he'd been way down the pecking order. Like others, I am relieved (neh, delighted) that we will be Luka-less for 3 or more matches.

There was an earlier post stating that he breaks up opposition play well amongst other things and we may miss him when he is gone. Admittedly, I had not considered this however I am still inclined to share your sentiments. I thought our midfield looked a lot more mobile against Wet Spam when he was suspended and despite injuries think it may be an improvement!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I was one of those who think we will miss him, but I also understand the contrary argument and reckon Kouyate could do a good job. My bigger concern is how we pick a fit side. I’m thinking it may work with: Guaita I’d prefer to try Nya over Brandon, however the position should really be Camarasa’s but that ain’t ever going to happen.

Yep I do agree and certainly in bold, it's almost comical to the point where I'm not too bothered about Saturday as it feels non-competetive!

I might have agreed with this sentiment but for the fact that we now have a serious injury crisis and can ill afford to lose another regular 1st teamer, so, I am far from relieved or delighted at the loss of Luka.

Yeah it is strange how you get an extra game ban if you lose an appeal but then the FA are a pedantic lot they probably issue it out of spite for taking up their time You dont know how close to the truth you are. Frivolous is the word used by the FA, in matters of appeal.

I'm looking forward to seeing Kouyate at the base of our midfield, I really am. It would be great if we could put out a decent side around him. Let's hope 1 or 2 walking wounded recover in time.

He does more than we realise and will be missed against Arsenal and City. Yep, he is always breaking up our play, do him good to miss out needs to calm down in games is always in trouble and always doing very annoying things around our box, I'd have dropped him after the Man.U game where he behaved like a t*** constantly trying to award Man.U free kincks and penalties.

We wont miss him as much as we think. Our most cohesive midfield performance this season was West Ham away and Luka was suspended. Two years ago our best performance of the season, a 3-0 win at Leicester was achieved with Luka missing again so he is not inexpendable

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

For me, this is a double edged sword . . . His passing/corners are appalling, he does however, have the ability, to break up the oppo's play(usually resulting in a caution).

They break up play and then what do they do? Suicide passes to a marked forward or just direct to an opponent. This is why we can't score. His main asset is penalties but Zaha/Ayew don't win them anymore.
