Fact, or theory (driven by agenda) ?

Why don't the strikers face the commuters?

Please do enlighten me. If you cannot answer, then I can only assume it is because they are spineless malcontents.

Well drivers haven't been on strike yet.

Guards have had picket lines at all depots. The maximum you can have on a picket line is only about 6 or 7.

I feel I have answered your question

If they had any balls they would picket the stations and face up to the commuters.

There's your answer.

Maybe as a compromise, an independent party could canvas the travelling public re the ' safety ' issue.

Then when the union receive the message that the majority of us just want a train to get on, they can go back to work.

After that, just the abysmal Southern management to deal with.

Whatever anyone's thoughts on the union, let's not forget that Southern have been a failing franchise way before this.

Unfortunately we passengers are just the collateral in a political battle.

I know a lot of drivers who are completely plssed off wit the Gtr Management Aslef tried 3 other ballots which were all contested in Court but this time a watertight ballot 87% voted in favour of the action, They're having a lot of other shift changes forced on apon them aside from their fears of DOO on vintage trains beingunsafe on certain routes
they've even been asked to assist platform staff with wheelchairs etc whereby untrained on board supervisors go missing or simply dont know what they're doing!

One thing is certain we're in for a long drawn out dispute!
Dread the Man U trip up from the South coast!

Seldom was a yellow more richly deserved. Lose the argument, abuse the opponent.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

He did by the nature of his response.

But the fact that there have been pickets remains true.

As it's been correctly pointed out by 7 mins it would be illegal for the conductors to picket a station. 7 mins also correctly stated that the drivers haven't gone on strike yet. He was again correct in stating you can only have 6 or 7 people on a picket line.

Been keeping an eye on this thread and it's quite clear the only person with any real knowledge and insight is 7 mins. Having a partner who worked for Southern at a management level but not as senior 7 mins I can back up a lot of what he is saying regarding the inner workings of the TOC.

P.S. so every time Matt Himself (or anyone for that matter)loses the plot and abuses someone he has lost the argument?

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.
