However one of our very own posters a few years ago warned us he would blog complete made up stuff on a new manager. He did just that and sure enough the odds slashed. Thus are the odds based on ITK or media led?

Most likely to be Lampard Paulo Fonseca was branded around before but as he's leaving Roma, he's already stated a preference to stay in Italy I've seen John Terry come up and that's an emphatic No from me and too far-fetched Dyche will apparently require a payout to Burnley so dunno if we have appetite to do that Then of course if you look at the Championship, Steve Cooper is a compelling choice appointment given his work with youth development, style of play and carrying Swansea to the play-off. Much may depend on how they get on i.e. Qualifying to premier league

Now that Roy has announced the prospect of Frank Lampard becoming manager makes me want to curl up into a foetal position on the floor and hug a pillow. Sean Dyche, same. Actually, anyone makes me feel that way right now. Hope they don't leave us hanging too long.

A lot of people felt the same way about Roy when he was announced......surely an announcement of a new manager must be imminent as nobody is going to sign a new contract or consider joining us until they know who is in charge.

If the rumours about Ray staying on are true you would think that would rule out any older establishment managers who will want their own people brought with them. Perhaps a younger less established manager is more likely in that case ? Ismael or Cooper?

I have the feeling it's going to be Lampard and it will go horribly wrong. Dyche fills me with far more confidence. Originally posted by redshift

The bottom line is it could all so easily go wrong whoever gets the job. Let’s face it ever since we came into the league it has gone wrong very quickly , or within a couple of years. Pulis, and Big Sam, pulled out well before it could go pear shaped on their watch.

You know full well, thats exactly whats going to happen & even then half-time of the 1st match I believe the fixtures are released 11th June?

I'm now becoming of the opinion that if we can't get someone with Premier League experience of managing a mid to lower table team then we are better off sticking with Roy. 4 Premier League jobs have come available this season. 2 for clubs trying to get in the champions league. 2 for clubs in relegation places. We are a stable club in the most elite sporting completion in the world. There's more decent managers than jobs available and the candidates will be climbing over each other to have a crack at this one. It's a fantastic opportunity. Hopefully, it will be someone that doesn't settle for mediocrity and will have an interest in getting the best out of ever aspect of the club including training, development and recruitment. We need to move on from sticking 10 men behind the ball knowing that will result in us knicking enough points to survive. That approach now below the bare minium requirement. Sports about being the best you can be, not about simply trying to avoid failure.
