I think Roy and the board are being shielded from major fan unrest at our tactics and performances. We don't improve and continually regress to the unskilled, disorganised rabble that we were last night. I cannot believe our board hasn't noticed yet.

Mr Hodgson has met his objectives of keeping the club in the PL, and of course for 3 seasons, and one suspects they have confidence that he will do so again this campaign. We would have learned an awful lot more from doing that, and since Roy obviously isn't fussed about progressing, as is the case in every cup comp under him, he could have given the entire team a rest. I think he used it as an opportunity to give game time to players who hadn’t been playing regularly or had recently returned from injury. Hence the strange set up, square pegs etc.

It's sad participation in the PL has moved beyond playing entertaining football these days. However, the FA Cup was an opportunity to do something for the fans ... and they failed miserably.

With fans in the stadium Roy would be gone by now. The game has moved on and passed him by, and in its current format he is clueless. Without Wilf we struggle and that has kept him in his job. Unfortunately Parish has not got the nuts to sort the problem out. He will be happy with a 17th place finish and bounced out of both cups without a squeak. Would rather get relegated and watch the kids play than watch PVA pretending to be a left back again. And don't get me started on our super Belgian strike partnership.

I think he's lost a split second of pace like when he couldn't get away from Mings against Villa in the first minute but he's brought more quality in front of goal and intelligence since being played as an inside forward.

When used to describe literature Turgid can be used to say writing is boring, complicated or difficult to understand which is also what our football could have been called last night. There are many meanings in the English language for the word Turgid. Just because you googled Turgid and got a couple of different meanings does not make them the only meanings. Now off to school you go sir. The problem is, the term is used to describe prose. And even if you could liken football to prose, "complicated or difficult to understand" could not describe how we play. If we could play that way you would not be whinging about the manager. You, and many others seem to think that "boring" and 'turgid' mean the same thing. They do not. You may find Dickens or Shakespeare boring, as they wrote in a turgid style, but they are only boring to the illiterate. But, as evidenced by their continued success at the top of the literature tree, they are certainly not classed as "boring". Turgid does not relate to sport in any kind of way. You can 'shoehorn' (another 'Roy out word' ) turgid in if you you are moaning about a write-up of a Palace match, but not about the actual football played. If you happen to read some lazy hack's use of the word describing sport, it doesn't change the meaning. I doubt that you will comprehend any of this though, as you seem to equate intellegence with knowledge. But puerile comments about schooling are a fair indicator that you will miss the difference between turgid and boring.

Agree with this and suspect there’s a few players and managers around the league who are dreading the eventual return of fans. Every game is a training game right now.

We lost by the one goal against Wolves. If it had been us at Crawley today they would have tanked us royally. Well done Crawley.
